FOUNDED IN 2000, THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN OUR COMMUNITIES BY RESPONDING TO THE NEEDS, GRANTING FUNDS, AND BUILDING LASTING RELATIONSHIPS. THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION'S CORE VALUES INCLUDE "COMMUNITY, INNOVATION, AND TRANSPARENCY

THE VISION OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO USE THE POWER OF GIVING TO SERVE OUR COMMUNITY. THE ORGANIZATION HAS THREE MAIN PROGRAMS THAT HELP SUPPORT THE FUNDS WHICH ARE USED TO DISTRIBUTE GRANTS TO NONPROFITS; BUILDERS GIVE BACK PROGRAM, COMMUNITY BUSINESS PARTNERS, AND FRIENDS OF THE FOUNDATION. 1. THE BUILDERS GIVE BACK PROGRAM WAS SPEARHEADED BY THE ORGANIZATION, LAKEWOOD RANCH COMMUNITIES (VISIONARY DEVELOPER OF LAKEWOOD RANCH) AND SELECT PRIMER BUILDERS. CURRENTLY THERE ARE TEN BUILDERS IN THE PROGRAM AND FOR EVERY NEW HOME CLOSING, THE BUILDER MAKES A $100 DONATION TO THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION IN THE RESIDENT'S NAME. LAKEWOOD RANCH COMMUNITIES MATCHES THE DONATIONS UP TO $10,000. THROUGH THE PROGRAM, THE FOCUS IS TO INTRODUCE NEW HOMEOWNERS TO THE VIBRANT TRADITION OF LOCAL PHILANTHROPY AND GAIN THEIR COMMITMENT TO VOLUNTEER AND OPEN THE DOOR2. THE COMMUNITY BUSINESS PARTNERS PROGRAM PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES TO SUPPORT THE ORGANIZATION THROUGH ANNUAL DONATIONS. THE LOCAL BUSINESSES MAY PARTICIPATE AND SERVE ON COMMITTEES, HOST EVENTS FOR GRANT RECIPIENTS, SUPPORT AND BE INVOLVED IN THE MAJOR EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES OF THE YEAR. 3. THE FRIENDS OF THE FOUNDATION PROGRAM IS A MONTHLY GIVING OPPORTUNITY FOR INDIVIDUALS TO SUPPORT THE ORGANIZATION'S VISION AND MISSION. THIS IS ALSO A POSITIVE WAY FOR COMMUNITY INDIVIDUALS TO BECOME MORE INVOLVED WITH THE ORGANIZATION.IN ADDITION, THE VOLUNTEER PLATFORM PROGRAM IS A WAY TO FIND THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY FOR INDIVIDUALS TO VOLUNTEER AND FOR NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS TO SHOWCASE WHAT THEY DO AND WHAT TYPE OF VOLUNTEERISM IS NEEDED.
