Part 3 - Line 1
IGSHPA OFFERS INDUSTRY REQUIRED TRAINING TO INSTALL GROUND SOURCE HEAT PUMPS.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
INDUSTRY TRAINING AND ACCREDITATION IS OUR MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITY AND MAKES UP APPROXIMATELY 60% OF OUR WORK. CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR ACCREDITATIONS ARE SECURED EITHER JUST BY A PASSING RATE ON A TEST, OR THE MORE TECHNICAL CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRE SUBMISSION OF RELEVANT INDUSTRY PARTICIPATION AS WELL AS EDUCATION, WHICH IS THEN REVIEWED BY A BOARD OF PEERS. THESE CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR ACCREDITATIONS OFFER A BASELINE FOR QUALITY OF INSTALLATION THAT HELPS TO REINFORCE PROPER INSTALLATIONS, REDUCING FAULTY INSTALLATIONS THAT CAN RESULT IN CUSTOMER DISSATISFACTION AND POSSIBLE RISK TO HEALTH AND SAFETY. TRAININGS ARE OFFERED THROUGH IGSHPA CERTIFIED TRAINERS TO THE MARKETPLACE. OUR CURRENT SET OF TRAINING OFFERINGS INCLUDE: ACCREDITED INSTALLER, CERTIFIED GEOTHERMAL INSPECTOR AND THE CERTIFIED GEOTHERMAL DESIGNER. THE CERTIFIED GEOTHERMAL DESIGN COURSE IS OFFERED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ASSOCIATION OF ENERGY ENGINEERS (AEE) WHO OFFERS THE CERTIFICATION, WHILE IGSHPA PROVIDES THE TRAINING FOR THE COURSE.
TO PROMOTE A SUSTAINABLE AND DECARBONIZED FUTURE ACROSS THE GLOBE THROUGH THE ADOPTION OF GEOTHERMAL AS THE CLEANEST, MOST EFFICIENT HEATING AND COOLING TECHNOLOGY. THIS ACTIVITY HAS AND WILL ALWAYS CONTINUE TO BE THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF IGSHPA. PROMOTING INDUSTRY NEWS, RESEARCH AND EVENTS THROUGH MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS AND VIRTUAL TOWN HALLS, DISTRIBUTION OF EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS, AND INDUSTRY EVENTS, SUCH AS OUR ANNUAL NATIONAL CONFERENCE.
