A 2021 BILL MELINDA GATES FOUNDATION BALANCE THE EQUATION CHALLENGEGRANTEE AND AWARDED A 1M ONE-TIME AWARD TO PILOT OUR MATH ACADEMIC MENTORSHIP PROGRAM SERVICES IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE STATE OF DELAWARES COLONIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT. IN 2021, WE SUPPORTED AROUND 88 MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS WITHIN DELAWARES GATES PROGRAM AND ACHIEVED AN ESTIMATED AVERAGE GROWITH OF 82 IN ALGEBRA 1 COURSE MASTERY FOR STUDENTS WHO ATTENDED THEFULL ACADEMIC YEAR. WE EMPLOYED AN ESTIMATED 45 UNIVERSITY STUDENTS THROUGH OUR WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT FOCUS TO SUPPORT BOTH OUR MATH AND WELLESS MENTORSHIP SERVICES. OUR GATES PILOT PROGRAM WAS EFFECTIVE AUGUST 2021 AND CONCLUDED IN AUGUST 2022.
VETF WAS CONTRACTED WITH MASTERY CHARTER SCHOOL TO PROVIDE DAY-TIME MATH ENRICHMENT SERVICES TO PENNSYLVANIA AND NEW JERSEY MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS IN GRADES 5 AND 8. STUDENTS ACHIEVED AN AVERAGE GROWTH IN COURSE MASTERY OF 48 5TH GRADE AND 20 8TH GRADE. WE WERE CONTRACTED FOR THE 2021 - 2022 ACADEMIC YEAR EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 2021
