MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS: FUNDED MEXICAN ORGANIZATIONS TO REMOVE GILLNETS FROM THE VAQUITA REFUGE, PROMOTE LEGAL SUSTAINABLE FISHING GEAR THAT DOES NOT POSE AN ENTANGLEMENT RISK TO THE VAQUITA, CONDUCT SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ON VAQUITA STATUS, ANALYZE VAQUITA CONSERVATION POLICY AND RAISE AWARENESS OF MARINE CONSERVATION ISSUES. THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR WROTE 10 GRANT PROPOSALS TO RAISE FUNDING FOR FISCAL YEAR 2022, BRIEFED MULTIPLE ACTORS AND ORGANIZATIONS ON THE PLIGHT OF THE VAQUITA, AND WROTE OVER A DOZEN REPORTS AND POPULAR ARTICLES.
