THE ROYAL RIVER CONSERVATION TRUST (RRCT) IS A REGIONAL LAND TRUST WORKING PRIMARILY IN SEVEN MAINE MUNICIPALITIES. THE TRUST OWNS, CARES FOR, AND STEWARDS LAND AND CONSERVATION EASEMENTS TO PROTECT LAND AND WATER RESOURCES FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC.

LAND CONSERVATION: IN 2021 RRCT SUCCESSFULLY ACQUIRED NEW FEE SIMPLE CONSERVATION LAND AT INTERVALE PRESERVE, FERN HOLLOW PRESERVE, AND PISGAH HILL PRESERVE. IN 2021 RRCT PLANNED AND CAMPAIGNED FOR ACQUISITIONS TO BE COMPLETED IN FUTURE YEARS.
STEWARDSHIP: RRCT CONDUCTS ANNUAL ON-SITE MONITORING OF ALL CONSERVATION EASEMENTS, AND EXEXCUTES STEWARDSHIP PLANS, PROJECTS, AND PROTOCOLS ON TRAIL EASEMENTS AND FEE OWNERSHIP. RRCT STEWARDSHIP POLICIES AND PROTOCOLS ARE GUIDED BY THE LAND TRUST ALLIANCE AND MAINE LAW.
EDUCATION & OUTREACH: RRCT CONTINUES FREE WEEKLY PROGRAMMING, FREE MONTHLY NATURE WALKS, EDUCATIONAL NEWSLETTERS, AND VARIOUS ADDITIONAL FREE PUBLIC EVENTS. IN 2021 RRCT LAUNCHED SEVERAL OUTDOOR CLASSROOMS WITH LOCAL SCHOOL RESPONDING TO THE PANDEMIC.
