TO PROMOTE GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING IN THE COLONIA DESIGNATED COMMUNITIES; TO PROMOTE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC SELF SUFFICIENCY THROUGH ADVOCACY, COLLABORATION AND FACILITATION OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND ACCESS TO SAFE, DECENT AND SANITARY HOUSING IN THE COLONIAS; TO DEVELOP MULTI ISSUE, SELF HELP COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATIONS TO RESPOND TO COMMON NEEDS; TO CREATE A COALITION AMONG COLONIAS COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING LEADERSHIP TRAINING, ORGANIZING CAPACITY AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO EXISTING COLONIAS AND FUTURE COLONIA ORGANIZATIONS; AND TO ADVOCATE FOR MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS ON ISSUES SUCH AS FUNDING AND POLICIES RELATED TO COLONIAS AT THE COUNTY, STATE, AND FEDERAL LEVELS.
