AS AN ORGANIZATION FORMED TO FUND RESEARCH FOR A RARE DISORDER,MULTICENTRIC CARPOTARSAL OSTEOLYSIS (MCTO), WE NOW HAVE A NUMBER OF RESEARCH PROJECTS FUNDED AT INSTITUTIONS ACROSS THE GLOBE. THIS WORK WILL NOT ONLY SERVE THE MCTO COMMUNITY, BUT THE PAPERS PUBLISHED AND DISCOVERIES MADE WILL SERVICE THE ENTIRE MEDICAL COMMUNITY AND OTHER CONDITIONS INVOLVING SIMILAR PATHWAYS AND CELLULAR PROCESSES. WE HAVE ALSO ATTENDED MEDICAL CONFERENCES, ADDRESSED LOCAL GOVERNMENT, AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS TO DISCUSS THE IMPORTANCE OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH FOR THOSE WITH RARE GENETIC CONDITIONS. IN FEBRUARY 2022 SOPHIE'S NEIGHBORHOOD GAVE AN ADDRESS TO BOULDER CITY COUNCIL AND THE GOVERNOR OF COLORADO ON RARE DISEASE DAY AS THE COURTHOUSE AND BANDSHELL LIGHTS WERE LIT IN HONOR OF THE SPECIAL EVENT.
