CAMP HOPE- REGIONAL WEST FOUNDATION COMPLETELY UNDERWRITES THE COST OF CAMP HOPE, WHICH IS AN ADULT CANCER CAMP DESIGNED FOR THE ADULT PERSON WITH CANCER, AND HIS OR HER SUPPORT PERSON. THIS CAMP PROVIDES A SUPPORTING CARING ENVIRONMENT AWAY FROM THE STRESSES OF DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES WHERE CANCER PATIENTS AND THEIR SUPPORT PERSONS LEARN NEW COPING SKILLS, MAINTAIN HOPE AND REDISCOVER JOY IN LIFE, DESPITE THEIR ILLNESS. OVER 1,000 PERSONS HAVE ATTENDED CAMP HOPE OVER THE PAST 20 YEARS.
SCHOLARSHIPS - REGIONAL WEST FOUNDATION AWARDED 34 SCHOLARSHIPS IN THE AMOUNT OF $41,950 DURING 2021. THESE SCHOLARSHIPS INCLUDED MEDICAL STUDENT, NURSING AND OTHER HEALTH RELATED SCHOLARSHIPS. REGIONAL WEST FOUNDATION BELIEVES ASSISTING WITH THE EDUCATION OF THOSE IN THE MEDICAL PROFESSION IS OF GREAT BENEFIT NOT ONLY TO REGIONAL WEST MEDICAL CENTER BUT TO ALL MEDICAL FACILITIES INCLUDING PHYSICIAN OFFICES IN OUR ENTIRE REGION.
EMERGENCY CARE NETWORK - THIS NETWORK EXISTS TO STRENGTHEN EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE IN THE REGION BY ESTABLISHING A PARTNERSHIP TO MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE THE EMERGENCY RESPONSE SYSTEM THROUGH EDUCATION, COMMUNICATION, INTEGRATED TIERED RESPONSE AND STANDARDIZED EQUIPMENT EXCHANGE. MEMBERS OF THE NETWORK INCLUDE: WESTERN NEBRASKA COMMUNITY COLLEGE, VALLEY AMBULANCE SERVICES, INC., REGIONAL WEST MEDICAL CENTER, STATE OF NEBRASKA EMS, PROVIDERS, PHYSICIANS, HOSPITAL AND REGIONAL WEST FOUNDATION.
