SOAPBOX WOMEN'S CORE MISSION IS TO BOLSTER THE BETTERMENT OF WOMEN AND NON-GENDER IDENTIFYING PEOPLE ACROSS ENTERTAINMENT, WORKING IN ALL FACETS OF CREATIVE MARKETING FOR FILM, TELEVISION AND STREAMING. OUR COMMUNITY UNFORTUNATELY FACED UNPRECEDENTED CHALLENGES IN 2023 IN THE FORM OF UNION STRIKES, AN UNSTEADY GLOBAL ECONOMY, AND THE SUBSEQUENT, ONGOING WAVES OF STUDIO, NETWORK, AND AGENCY LAYOFFS. BUT DESPITE ALL THIS, THANKS IN LARGE PART TO THE STEADFAST COMMITMENT OF OUR WHOLLY VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP TEAM AND ADVISORS TO SUPER-SERVE THE NEEDS OF OUR MEMBERS, SOAPBOX WOMEN NOT ONLY SURVIVED 2023, WE THRIVED.WE WERE FORTUNATE TO HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO HOST 27 COMMUNITY EVENTS IN 2023 THAT ADDED TREMENDOUS VALUE TO OUR MEMBERS AND EARNED US $1095 IN REVENUE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOPS WITH PAID SPEAKERS LIKE OUR FEBRUARY'S "MANAGEMENT MASTERCLASS AND OUR "FINANCIAL WORKSHOP" IN JUNE, MONTHLY VIRTUAL LUNCHES AND PANEL DISCUSSIONS, AND A HIGH VOLUME OF IN-PERSON GATHERINGS INCLUDING OCTOBER'S INAUGURAL "MENTORSHIP SPEED DATING" PAIRING MENTORS AND MENTEES FOR A NIGHT OF CONNECTION AND CONVERSATION - AND SUBSEQUENTLY OUR LARGEST IN-PERSON EVENT SINCE JANUARY 2020.
