FREE GUITARS 4 KIDS PROVIDED GUITARS AND IN-PERSON MUSIC LESSONS FOR 160 PARTICIPANTS IN PORTLAND PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM SUMMER MATH TRAJECTORY CAMP FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS AND HIGH SCHOOL LEADERS. STUDENTS MET TWICE PER WEEK FOR 45 MINUTES OVER A 6-WEEK PERIOD. AT THE END OF THE PROGRAM, THE STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO KEEP THE GUITAR.
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SAGA FOUNDATION, FREE GUITARS 4 KIDS PARTNERED WITH BOTH THE REDWOOD CITY PAL AND THE REDWOOD CITY PUBLIC LIBRARY TO OFFER A GUITAR CLASS TO KIDS IN UNDER-SERVED COMMUNITIES. A TOTAL OF 46 GUITARS WERE DONATED IN TO THESE GROUPS AND STUDENTS RECEIVED 10 WEEKS OF GUITAR LESSONS. AT THE END OF THE PROGRAM, THE STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO KEEP THE GUITAR.IN PARTNERSHIP WITH DREAMSTREETS NASHVILLE, FREE GUITARS 4 KIDS DONATED 31 GUITARS TO SUPPORT THEIR MUSIC PROGRAM.
