GROUNDWORK OHIO RIVER VALLEY'S MISSION IS TO ENGAGE YOUTH AND COMMUNITIES IN URBAN ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES THAT POSITIVELY IMPACT THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE. WE ACCOMPLISH THIS MISSION WITH A UNIQUE APPROACH THAT INCORPORATES YOUTH EMPLOYMENT WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT RESTORATION VOLUNTEER TRAINING AND SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE.

GREEN CORPS: GROUNDWORK'S GREEN CORPS YOUNG-ADULT WORKFORCE IS A MECHANISM FOR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND JOB CREATION. YOUNG-ADULTS FROM THE CITY ARE TRAINED AND CERTIFIED IN JOB TECHNICIAN SKILLS WATER QUALITY TESTING GREENHOUSE SKILLS INVASIVE SPECIES REMOVAL GREEN READINESS ENVIRONMENTAL INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGN AND MAINTENANCE AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY. EMPLOYEES RECEIVE MULTIPLE CERTIFICATIONS APPLICABLE TO THEIR WORK AND JOB SECTORS. GREEN INDUSTRIES ARE GROWING ACROSS THE COUNTRY. PARTICIPANTS IN THE GREEN CORPS WILL GRADUATE EQUIPPED WITH CERTIFICATIONS AND SKILLS TO ACQUIRE JOBS IN INDUSTRIES SUCH AS GREENHOUSE PRODUCTION ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT.
