AWARENESS: CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE, EXPLOITATION, AND TRAFFICKING IS A SUBJECT THAT CAN BE EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE TO TALK ABOUT, AND BECAUSE OF THAT, PEOPLE DO NOT REALIZE HOW PREVALANT THIS ISSUE REALLY IS. WITH OUR AWARENESS EFFORTS, OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE IT KNOWN SO WE CAN GET AHEAD OF IT. IN 2021, WE GREW OUR RELATIONSHIPS WITH LAWMAKERS, LAW ENFORCEMENT, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND OUR PEERS IN THIS FIGHT. WITH THE HELP OF OUR RELATIONSHIPS, WE WERE ABLE TO FURTHER OUR EDUCATION AND AWARENESS MOVEMENTS.
PREVENTION: OUR HOPE IS NOT ONLY THAT WE CAN EDUCATE AND ENGAGE THE PUBLIC ON THIS ONGOING EPIDEMIC, BUT THAT WE CAN PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING. IN 2021, WE NOT ONLY PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS FOR PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS, BUT ALSO PURCHASED AN ELECTRONIC DETECTION K9 FOR USE BY THE INDIANAPOLIS METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMENT THAT CAN SNIFF OUT HIDDEN TECHNOLOGY. IN HIS FIRST YEAR OF SERVICE, HIS DISCOVERIES HAVE LED TO THE ARREST OF DOZENS OF PERPETRATORS IN ONLY A FEW MONTHS.
RESTORATION: WE PROVIDE RESOURCES,SUPPORT,& FUNDING TO VETTED SERVICE PROVIDERS CARING FOR CHILD SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL TRAUMA. IN 2021, WE PROVIDED A GRANT TO THE IN INTERNET CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN(ICAC) TASK FORCE FOR THE PURCHASE OF A MOBILE FORENSIC & INTERVIEW VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR MORE FREQUENT AND EFFICIENT FIELD INVESTIGATIONS. WE ALSO FORMED A NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH AN ORGANIZATION DEVELOPING SHORT FILMS & ACCOMPANYING GUIDEBOOKS TO BETTER EQUIP THERAPISTS WHO ARE WORKING WITH SURVIVORS INCLUDING THOSE UNDER THE AGE OF 18.WE CONTINUE TO FORM PARTNERSHIPS WITH CHILD ADVOCAVY CENTERS (CAC) ACROSS IN & PROVIDED GRANTS TOWARDS THE RENOVATION OF AN IN CAC TO CREATE A SAFER & MORE COMFORTABLE ENVIRONMENT FOR CHILD SURVIVORS.
