FEMS FOR DEMOCRACY IS ORGANIZED AND OPERATED EXCLUSIVELY FOR SOCIAL WELFARE PURPOSES WITHIN THE MEANING OF SECTION 501(C)(4) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF 1986, AS NOW ENACTED OR HEREAFTER AMENDED. FEMS FOR DEMOCRACY'S OBJECTIVES INCLUDE PROMOTING COMMUNITY WELFARE AND PROVIDING COMMUNITY EDUCATION IN MICHIGAN BY INCREASING VOTER PARTICIPATION THROUGH RESEARCH, VOTER EDUCATION, VOTER REGISTRATION, AND VOTER MOBILIZATION; INCREASING VOTER AWARENESS OF PUBLIC POLICY ISSUES THROUGH EDUCATIONAL MEANS; DEFENDING HUMAN AND CIVIL RIGHTS SUCH AS THE RIGHT TO VOTE.

MACOMB COUNTY ORGANIZING COLLABORATIVE - OUR PURPOSE WAS TO BE AN ANCHOR ORGNIZATION IN MACOMB COUNTY, MICHIGAN, UTILIZING AN ORGANIZE-THE-ORGANIZERS MODEL AROUND LOCAL SHARED PRIORITIES TO FRONTLINE COLLABORATION AND COORDINATION WHILE DEEPENING TIES WITH LOCAL GROUPS. LOCAL PROGRESSIVE ORGANIZATIONS & COMMUNITY INFLUENCERS WERE IDENTIFIED, EVENTS WERE HELD AND DIGITAL & PRINT ADVERTISING WERE UTILIZED TO PROMOTE PRIORITIES SUCH AS VOTER REGISTRATION, GET-OUT-THE-VOTE POLICIES AND BALLOT INITIATIVES.
BALLOT PETITIONS - OUR GOAL WAS TO MOBILIZE, EDUCATE AND ENCOURAGE VOTER TURNOUT DURING THE MIDTERM ELECTION CYCLE. SIGNATURE COLLECTING EVENTS AND VOLUNTEER TRAININGS ACROSS MICHIGAN WERE ORGANIZED FOR TWO STATEWIDE BALLOT INITIATIVES AND OVER 105,000 SIGNATURES WERE COLLECTED.
CALL JANE PREMIER EVENT - WE SPONSORED A COMMUNITY SCREENING OF "CALL JANE" TO CELEBRATE THE POWER OF WOMEN, RAISE AWARENESS AND ENCOURAGE CONVERSATION OF REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS IN MICHIGAN.
