THE UNITED JEWISH FOUNDATION SERVES AS CUSTODIAN OF THE DETROIT JEWISH COMMUNITY'S ASSETS. THE FOUNDATION IS COMMITTED TO PRESERVING AND GROWING THE ASSETS TO MEET THE COMMUNITY'S LONG TERM NEEDS.

THE CRANBROOK EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY PROVIDES EXTRAORDINARY EDUCATION, ENCOURAGES CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION, AND VALUES LEARNERS OF ALL AGES AND BACKGROUNDS. CRANBROOK DEVELOPS PEOPLE WHO WILL LIVE WITH PURPOSE AND INTEGRITY, CREATE WITH PASSION, EXPLORE WITH CURIOSITY, AND STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE.

The goal of this organization are the nongovernmental, nonprofit organizations with funds (usually from a single source, such as an individual, family or corporation) and programs managed by its own trustees or directors, established to maintain or aid social, educational, religious or other charitable activities serving the common welfare, primarily through grantmaking.

MISSION:

The goal of this organization are the private foundations that make grants based on charitable endowments. Because of their endowments, they are focused primarily on grantmaking and generally do not actively raise funds or seek public financial support. These are the most common type of private foundation. They are generally endowed, usually from a single individual or family. Private foundations are considered family foundations if relatives or the original donor are still active on the board of trustees or in the operation of the foundation.

FRESH AIR SOCIETY (THE ORGANIZATION) IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION WITH OVER 120 YEARS OF DEDICATION TO ITS FOUNDING MISSION OF BUILDING A VIBRANT COMMUNITY THROUGH ENRICHING JEWISH CAMPING EXPERIENCES FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES, RESPECTFUL OF FINANCIAL ABILITY. IT FULFILLS THIS MISSION BY OFFERING A CONTINUUM OF RESIDENTIAL SUMMER AND YEAR-ROUND CAMPING PROGRAMS AND EXPERIENCES TO SERVE THE MICHIGAN JEWISH COMMUNITY, AS WELL AS OTHER SECULAR EDUCATIONAL, CORPORATE, AND NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS.

The goal of this organization is to provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn, become competitive in and enjoy the organized recreational activity, sport or game of their choice. These programs may be offered by local clubs devoted to a particular activity or sport; may provide individual or team coaching assistance or instruction, access to equipment and facilities, and uniforms, if necessary; and may sponsor or make arrangements for athletes to participate in amateur competitions, usually at the local or regional level, and provide officials for games. These events are generally for the enjoyment of the athletes and are not at a high enough competitive level to be considered spectator sports.

THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO JEWISH PEOPLE IN THE STATE OF MICHIGAN THROUGH THE LENDING OF MONEY WITHOUT INTEREST IN ACCORDANCE WITH CORE JEWISH VALUES, RESPECT, COMPASSION AND CONFIDENTIALITY.

The goal of this organization is to operate postsecondary educational institutions that offer postgraduate study at masters or doctorate levels in addition to an undergraduate program for people who meet entry level requirements and are interested in an advanced education.
