OPIOID SUMMIT - BROUGHT STUDENTS FROM THROUGHOUT THE STATE TOGETHER LAST TWO YEARS FOR TWO HOURS TO HEAR EXPERT SPEAKERS, COUNSELORS ETC DISCUSS OPIOID AND SUBSTANCE MISUSE PREVENTION AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS WHICH WERE DESIGNED TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM OF OPIOID AND SUBSTANCE MISUSE. THEY HAVE BECOME BUT ONE COMPONENT OF THE GAMECHANGER STUDENT POWERED OPIOID AND SUBSTANCE MISUSE EDUCATION PROGRAM AS DEVELOPED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE HAZELDEN BETTY FORD FOUNDATION.
CHANGE THEIR HOLIDAY - IS A PROGRAM THAT GAMECHANGER PARTNERS WITH GOVERNOR JUSTICE'S JOBS AND HOPE PROGRAM ALONG WITH SPONSORS WALMART; MCDONALD'S, PARMAR AND MOUNTAINEER MARTS AND PEPSI TO HELP PROVIDE MUCH NEEDED FUNDS AT CHRISTMAS TO FAMILIES WHOSE MOM AND OR DAD HAVE BEEN IN SUCCESSFUL OPIOID AND SUBSTANCE MISUSE RECOVERY AND WHO MAY STILL BE GETTING BACK ON THEIR FEET. THIS IS AIMED PRIMARILY FOR FAMILIES WHO HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN SO THAT THEY DON'T MISS A VISIT FROM SANTA.
GOLF CLASSIC AND PREVENTION LUNCHEON - WERE FIRST HELD AT THE GREENBRIER RESORT IN MAY OF 2021 AND ARE SCHEDULED AGAIN THIS YEAR FOR JUNE 1 AND 2 AT THE GREENBRIER. THIS EVENT SERVES A DUAL CAPACITY WITH THE GOLF CLASSIC AND DINNER THE NIGHT BEFORE USED AS ONE OF THE MAIN FUNDRAISING EVENTS FOR GAMECHANGER WHILE THE PREVENTION EDUCATION LUNCHEON IS DESIGNED TO BRING PREVENTION EXPERTS FROM THROUGHOUT WEST VIRGINIA AND THE NATION TO DISCUSS NEW INNOVATIVE PREVENTION SOLUTIONS TO TO DISCUSS AND FURTHER ENHANCE THE GAMECHANGER INITIATIVE.
