PRESENTED TWO PERFORMANCES OF THE FULLY-STAGED OPERA IL CORSARO BY GIUSEPPE VERDI. THE PRODUCTION FEATURED A CAST OF PROFESSIONAL SINGERS FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY ACCOMPANIED BY A PROFESSIONAL ORCHESTRA. PERFORMED IN EVANSTON'S CAHN AUDITORIUM IT WAS THE CHICAGO AREA PREMIERE OF THE 174 YEAR OLD WORK.
PRESENTED TWO PERFORMANCES OF THE FULLY STAGED OPERA L'INGANNO FELICE BY GEOACHINO ROSSINI. THE PRODUCTION FEATURED A CAST OF PROFESSIONAL SINGERS FROM CHICAGO AND AROUND THE WORLD ACCOMPANIED BY A PROFESSIONAL ORCHESTRA. PERFORMED IN CHICAGO'S ATHENAEUM THEATRE IT MARKED THE CHICAGO PREMIERE OF THE 210 YEAR OLD WORK.
FESTIVAL YOUNG ARTISTS SHOWCASED THE ORGANIZATION'S MUSIC EDUCATION PROGRAM IN A RECITAL FEATURING REPERTOIRE MADE FAMOUS BY THE ITALIAN SOPRANO RENATA TEBALDI IN WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN HER 100TH BIRTHDAY. THE PROGRAM WAS PRESENTED IN GANZ HALL AT ROOSEVELT UNIVERSITY IN CHICAGO.
