Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
THE ACCESS FUND EDUCATION GRANT WAS AWARDED TO THE VALDEZ ADVENTURE ALLIANCE IN ORDER TO PRODUCE A VIDEO ON ICE STEWARDSHIP. ICE STEWARDSHIP IS WHEN ICE CLIMBERS ARE STEWARDS OF THE AREAS THEY CLIMB IN AND THE APPROACHES ASSOCIATED WITH THEM. THIS MEANS ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND CLEANLINESS AS WELL AS PROPER COMMUNICATION AND KIND REGARDS TO CLIMBERS NEW AS WELL AS EXPERT. COURTEOUS BEHAVIOR AMONG PEES IS GREATLY ENCOURAGED AND SHOULD BE VIEWED AS A LARGE PART OF SHARING "BETA" OR USEFUL INFORMATION AS WELL AS GENTLY REQUESTING BEHAVIORS SUCH AS CARING FOR PET (AND HUMAN) WASTE AT CLIMBING AREAS.
VALDEZ ICE CLIMBING FESTIVAL AT KEYSTONE CANYON IN VALDEZ. VAA HELD MULTIPLE CLINICS WHICH INCLUDED SAFETY AND TECHNIQUE FOR WOMEN AND YOUTH. THERE WERE 200 TICKETS SOLD. A FINAL REPORT WAS SENT TO THE THE STATE WHICH REPORTED ON THE BEFORE AND AFTER EFFECTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE ENVIRONMENT WAS RESTORED WITH ZERO NEGATIVE IMPACT. CLINICS ARE AN EXPRESSION OF OUR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING AND OUTREACH.
THE VALDEZ BIKE BASH IS A CELEBRATION OF FAT BIKES HELD IN VALDEZ, ALASKA EACH SPRING. ONCE A YEAR COURSE PREPARERS PACK A COURSE IN THE SNOW AROUND THE VALDEZ GLACIER LAKE WHICH IS USED FOR THE EVENT, BUT IS ALSO USED BY THE COMMUNITY FOR OTHER OUTDOOR RECREATION ACTIVITIES. THERE IS ALSO A DOWNHILL EVENT WHICH DREW MORE PARTICIPANTS THAN THERE HAS BEEN FOR YEARS! THIS IS AN EVENT THE COMMUNITY AND VISITORS COME TOGETHER FOR!
FOR ADDITIONAL OUTDOOR RECREATION EXPERIENCES WE PROVIDE CAMPING AT SHOUP BAY MARINE STATE PARK AND BLUEBERRY CAMPGROUNDS, BOTH PREVIOUSLY MANAGED BY THE STATE, AND THIS YEAR WE HAD SIGNIFICANT REPAIR AND CHANGED OUR ONLINE SYSTEM AS WELL AS TRIED TO ADD ADDITIONAL HELPERS FOR PATRONS FOR THEIR CONVENIENCE
