DESPITE THE 2020 COVID-19 PANDEMIC, BY DECEMBER 2020, HEALTHY YOU, HEALTHY US WAS ABLE TO PUT ON ONE COMMUNITY PROGRAM. WE VISITED AN INDEPENDENT SENIOR LIVING RESIDENCE AND SUPPLIED 15 FREE DIABETES MONITORING KITS (TO INCLUDE: A GLUCOSE METER, A BOX OF TEST STRIPS, AND A BOX OF LANCETS) TO ALL RESIDENTS WHO WERE IDENTIFIED BY THE SOCIAL SERVICES COORDINATE PRIOR TO THE EVENT. EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS FOCUSED ON PREVENTING DIABETES AND HOW TO LIVE WITH DIABETES WERE DISTRIBUTED TO ALL RESIDENTS THAT WERE PRESENT DURING THE TIME OF THE EVENT.
