YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS, GENERAL/OTHER: SHARING INC./RISE HAS BEEN ABLE TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE ACTIVITIES FOR DISADVANTAGED AND AT RISK YOUTH/TEENS. SI RISE PROVIDES VOLUNTEER SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY THROUGH THE TEACHING OF LIFE SKILLS, ANTI-DRUG AND ALCOHOL EDUCATION, AND REFERRALS TO COMMUNITY SERVICE AND EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES. UPSTATE JUVENILE FACILITY SERVES HUNDREDS OF TEENS YEARLY. SI ALSO CONTINUES TO BE A RESOURCE FOR DJJ YOUTH COURT SANCTIONS AND LOCAL UNIVERSITY STUDENT COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS. SI STARTED AN INTERVENTION METHOD INCLUDING COGNITIVE BEHAVIOR THERAPY USING A SMALL FARM THROUGH WHICH TEENS CAN COMPLETE COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS. SI CONTINUES TO DRAW TOGETHER OTHER CRITICAL COMMUNITY SERVICE ENTITIES, BUSINESSES AND INDIVIDUALS TO HELP PROVIDE HOPE AND EDUCATION FOR THE LESS FORTUNATE AND DOWNTRODDEN. SI RISE CONTINUES TO INSPIRE THE LOCAL COMMUNITY TO WORK TOGETHER BY USING THEIR AVAILABLE RESOURCES, SHARING THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND BLESSINGS SO THAT ALL MAY REAP THE BENEFITS OF A STRONG AND SPIRITUALLY HEALTHY COMMUNITY. SI ALSO INTERVENES WITH YOUTH WHO ARE AT RISK OF FAILING OR QUITTING SCHOOL, HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN CRIMINAL ACTIVITY, HAVE BEEN OR ARE INCARCERATED, USING DRUGS, SEXUALLY ACTIVE, BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH ADD/ADHD/PTSD, AND WHO MAY HAVE MINIMAL LEARNING DISABILITIES. SI'S GOALS ARE TO EDUCATE AT-RISK TEENS ABOUT MORALS, VALUES, LIFE SKILLS, COMMUNITY SERVICE, USING THEIR GIFTS/TALENTS AND TAKING CONTROL OF THEIR DESTINY IN A POSITIVE MANNER THROUGH AVAILABLE COMMUNITY RESOURCES. THIS WILL HELP DETER FUTURE DESTRUCTIVE CHOICES. SI SEEKS TO GUIDE TEENS TO SEEK TO EMPOWER THEMSELVES TO BECOME PEACEFUL, HOPEFUL, HAPPY, PRODUCTIVE CITIZENS IN THEIR COMMUNITY.
