Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
OUR MISSION IS TO SERVE THE EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF OUR MEMBERS AND THEIR STUDENTS AND TO PROVIDE GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES TO MUSIC EDUCATORS REGARDLESS OF THEIR EXPERIENCE IN THE PROFESSION.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
CLINICS AND CONFERENCES - PROVIDE CLINICS AND CONFERENCES REGARDING MUSIC EDUCATION TO EDUCATORS AND STUDENTS IN COLORADO. CLINICS AND CONFERENCES WERE ATTENDED BY OVER 1,000 STUDENTS AND EDUCATORS. THE COLORADO MUSIC EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION ANNUAL CONFERENCE MOVED BACK TO AN IN-PERSON EVENT. HOWEVER, BECAUSE OF CONTINUED HEALTH RESTRICTIONS AND LACK OF COVERAGE IN SCHOOLS THE AVERAGE IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE OF MORE THAN 1,500 PARTICIPANTS AT OUR CONFERENCE CHANGED TO LESS THAN 1,200 TOTAL PARTICIPANTS.
EDUCATIONAL SERVICES - ENCOURAGE PARTICIPATION IN MUSIC EDUCATION AND PROVIDE RECOGNITION FOR ACHIEVEMENT IN MUSIC FOR COLORADO STUDENTS. INSTRUMENTAL AND VOCAL PROGRAMS INVOLVED PARTICIPATION BY OVER 1,000 STUDENTS. THE COVID-19 HEALTH PANDEMIC CAUSED A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON THE NORMAL OPERATIONS OF THE COLORADO MUSIC EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION, RESULTING IN A LOSS OF PROGRAMS, MEMBERS, AND PARTICIPATION BY MEMBERS AND SCHOOLS. THIS PANDEMIC AND NATIONAL, STATE, AND COUNTY HEALTH MANDATES RESULTED IN THE CANCELLATION OF THE ALL-STATE ELEMENTARY CHOIR PROGRAM IN 2022. THE REMAINING ALL-STATE PROGRAMS ALL CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE A DECREASE IN PARTICIPATION. MEMBERSHIP IN THE ORGANIZATION WAS STILL DOWN AND PARTICIPATION IN THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE WAS ALSO DOWN. THIS LOSS IN PROGRAMS AND MEMBERSHIP RESULTED IN A CONTINUED REDUCTION IN REVENUE FOR THE ORGANIZATION DURING THE 2021 - 2022 FISCAL YEAR.
