THE TEXAS CENTER FOR LOCAL FOOD PROVIDES EDUCATION, RESEARCH, AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO CREATE REGIONAL FOOD SYSTEMS IN TEXAS THAT SUPPORT PROSPEROUS FAMILY FARMS, HEALTHY TEXANS AND VIBRANT RURAL ECONOMIES.

IN 2021, WE DEVELOPED AND LAUNCHED OUR LEARNING NETWORK FOR FARMERS, THE TEXAS FOOD EDUCATION & DISCOVERY NETWORK, TXFED.ORG. TXFED.ORG LAUNCHED 4 COURSES. 375 STUDENTS ENROLLED AND THE AVERAGE RATING FOR THE PLATFORM WAS 4.4/5 STARS. IN 2021, WE ALSO LAUNCHED OUR NEW PROJECT "A FRESH LOOK AT YOUR FARMERS MARKET", THAT WILL PROVIDE EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO HELP FARMERS MARKETS INCREASE HEALTHY FOOD ACCESS USING SNAP BENEFITS. WE WILL SERVE 20 FARMERS MARKETS PER YEAR.


PROVIDED 1250 BOXES OF FRESH FOOD TO RESIDENTS IN ELGIN, TX AS PART OF LOCAL COVID RELIEF EFFORTS.
