DURING THE CALENDAR YEAR OF 2021, THE FLORIDA-GEORGIA RAILWAY HERITAGE MUSEUM, INC. ACQUIRED THROUGH A LEASE PROGRAM, A HISTORIC 1951 F-UNIT LOCOMOTIVE. SUFFICIENT REVENUES RAISED ALLOWED FOR THE SHIPPING OF THIS LOCOMOTIVE FROM INDIANA AND ITS RESTORATION TO FULLY OPERATIONAL. THE F-UNIT IS NOW THE FLAGSHIP LOCOMOTIVE PULLING OUR HISTORIC PASSENGER COACHES, ALLOWING FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO EXPERIENCE RAIL TRAVEL FROM THE 1950S ERA AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS VIA LOCOMOTIVE TOURS AND LOCOMOTIVE CAB RIDES. DURING THE CALENDAR YEAR 2021, THE MUSEUM WAS ABLE TO SHIP FROM NEW YORK, A HISTORIC GP40 LOCOMOTIVE AND COMMENCE RESTORATION WORK ON THAT UNIT. IT WILL BE COMPLETED BEFORE THE END OF 2022. THE MUSEUM BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETS MONTHLY TO DETERMINE WHICH PROJECTS IT INTENDS TO FUND THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
