LOCOMOTIVE EXHIBITS - EVENTS ARE HELD THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WHICH SERVE TO PRESERVE THE HISTORY OF ALABAMA AND AMERICAN RAILWAY HISTORY. EXAMPLES OF SUCH EVENTS ARE THE WILD WEST DAY, CHRISTMAS AT THE STATION, FALL FOILAGE SPECIAL, SCARECROW SPECIAL, AND SHELBY & SOUTHERN RAILROAD.
CHARTER TRAIN EXCURSIONS - COMMUNITY GROUPS SUCH AS SCHOOLS AND CHURCHES EXPERIENCE TRAIN EXCURSIONS AND LEARN ABOUT ALABAMA'S RAILROAD HISTORY THROUGH THE TRAIN RIDE ITSELF, TOURS OF A HISTORIC DEPOT MUSEUM, AND A VISIT TO THE BOONE LIBRARY. THE BOONE LIBRARY IS HOUSED IN A HISTORIC DEPOT AND ITS HOLDINGS INCLUDE OVER 1400 BOOKS, 1100 DVDS/VIDEOS/CDS, RAIL-FAN PERIODICALS, RAIL EMPLOYEE MAGAZINES, REFERENCE BOOKS, MAPS, AND OTHER TYPES OF MEMORABILIA.
