LIVING CAMPUS PROGRAM: INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF MORE THAN A DOZEN SCHOOL- AND COMMUNITY-BASED GARDEN SITES INCLUDING PROVISION OF AMERICORPS FELLOW WEEKLY AT SOME SITES; HOSTING MONTHLY PUBLIC WORK DAYS AT MOST SITES; CREATION OF EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES FOR SITES SITE COMMUNITY AND BROADER COMMUNITY; LAUNCH OF FOOD EXPLORERS PROGRAM PILOT AT TWO SITES DELIVERING BIWEEKLY CURRICULUM ON THE FOOD SYSTEM WITH A FOCUS ON ITS IMPACT ON HEALTH COMMUNITIES THE ENVIRONMENT AND FOOD SECURITY; PARTNERING WITH MULTIPLE ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR SITES AND SITE COMMUNITIES.


RESIDENTIAL GARDENS PROGRAM: PROVISION OF SERVICES THROUGH THREE PROJECTS 1 BACKYARD HARVEST PROJECT WHERE EGC VOLUNTEERS GLEAN EXCESS PRODUCE FROM NEIGHBORHOOD YARDS AND TRANSPORT DONATED PRODUCE TO NON-PROFIT FOOD DISTRIBUTION PARTNERS; 2 FARMERS MARKET BOOTH WHERE EGC VOLUNTEERS HOST A BOOTH AT LOCAL FARMERS MARKET TO INTERACT WITH THE COMMUNITY PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES AND COLLECT DONATED MARKET PRODUCE FOR TRANSPORT TO NON-PROFIT FOOD DISTRIBUTION PARTNERS; AND 3 SENIOR GARDEN STEWARD PROJECT WHERE EGC SUPPORTS FELLOW NONPROFIT VILLAGES OF SAN MATEO COUNTY IN ASSISTING SENIORS WITH GARDEN MAINTENANCE TO PROVIDE FRESH PRODUCE TO ISOLATED SENIORS AND FOR DONATION TO NON-PROFIT FOOD DISTRIBUTION PARTNERS.


SEEDLING STARTER PROGRAM: WITH THE SUPPORT OF VOLUNTEERS EGC RAISED THOUSANDS OF SEEDLINGS IN 2022 ENSURING EGC HAD A PIPELINE OF SUSTAINABLY RAISED SEEDLINGS IN NEEDED VARIETIES. SEEDLINGS ARE USED IN EGC GARDEN SITES DISTRIBUTED TO SENIOR GARDEN STEWARD PROJECT SITES AND DISTRIBUTED IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES AS PART OF THE SEEDLING & SOIL GIVEAWAY TO REMOVE FINANCIAL BARRIERS TO URBAN AGRICULTURE AND FOOD SOVEREIGNTY IN UNDER-RESOURCED COMMUNITIES. SEEDLING STARTER PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES EDUCATION FOR THE COMMUNITY IS SEEDLING PROPOGATION.
