SFMADE CREATES JOBS FOR DIVERSE URBAN RESIDENTS BY DEVELOPING THE LOCAL MANUFACTURING SECTOR.

SFMADE PROVIDES LOCAL MANUFACTURERS IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA WITHTHE BAY AREA, GROW, AND CREATE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOW-INCOMEINDIVIDUALS, WITH A FOCUS ON PEOPLE OF COLOR, IMMIGRANTS, AND WOMEN. IN2020, SFMADE SERVED OVER 700 MANUFACTURERS, PROVIDING THEM WITH MORETHAN 1,700 HOURS OF 1-ON-1 ADVISORY SERVICES TO HELP THEM RECOVER ANDREBUILD. SFMADE ALSO WORKS DIRECTLY WITH MANUFACTURERS TO HELP THEM TOPREPARE FOR AND HIRE FROM THE LOCAL WORKFORCE. OUR WORKFORCE PROGRAMSSERVE BOTH ADULTS WITH SIGNIFICANT BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT ANDLOW-INCOME YOUTH BY PLACING THEM DIRECTLY INTO TRAINING, PAIDINTERNSHIPS, AND FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT. FINALLY, OUR REGIONALPOLICY/PRACTICE PROGRAMS ENGAGES KEY STAKEHOLDERS ACROSS ALL 9 BAY AREA COUNTIES - INCLUDING LOCAL GOVERNMENT, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, ANDHIGHER EDUCATION -TO CREATE A ROBUST REGIONAL MANUFACTURING SECTOR BYFOSTERING REGIONAL COLLABORATION AND COORDINATING THE COVID CRISISRESPONSE FROM CITY GOVERNMENTS TO MAKE SURE MANUFACTURING IS A FRONTAND CENTER PRIORITY AND STRATEGY TO BUILD A MORE INCLUSIVE ANDEQUITABLE ECONOMY.
