REPORTING PLATFORM: THE RESOURCE AND REPORTING WEB-BASED PLATFORM IS A SECURE ONLINE PORTAL THAT ALLOWS ENTERTAINMENT WORKERS TO ACCESS RESOURCES AND REPORTING MECHANISMS, AS WELL AS ANONYMOUSLY SHARE AND STORE SENSITIVE INFORMATION RELATED TO WORKPLACE SEXUAL MISCONDUCT, DISCRIMINATION, HARASSMENT, BULLYING, AND OTHER FORMS OF ABUSE.
INDEPENDENT PRODUCTION COMPANY INITIATIVE (RESPECT ON SET): THE INDEPENDENT PRODUCTION COMPANY PROGRAM IS AN INITIATIVE TO DEVELOP A THIRD-PARTY PILOT TO PROTECT WORKERS AT INDEPENDENT PRODUCTION COMPANIES AND SUPPORT THOSE COMPANIES' EFFORTS TO PREVENT WORKPLACE MISCONDUCT. INDEPENDENT PRODUCTION COMPANIES FACE A NUMBER OF UNIQUE CHALLENGES. THEY ARE OFTEN SMALL IN SIZE AND LACK ADEQUATE RESOURCES AND INTERNAL EXPERTISE TO PUT SYSTEMS IN PLACE THAT PREVENT WORKPLACE MISCONDUCT. PARTICIPANTS IN THE INITIATIVE WILL AGREE TO ABIDE BY A PRODUCTION CODE OF CONDUCT, MONITOR BEHAVIOR, REPORT, AND TRACK. THE PROGRAM WILL ALSO FACILITATE EDUCATION AND TRAININGS. IATSE ISSUED A PRESS RELEASE IN 2024 TO FORM A NEW SUBCOMMITTEE FOCUSED ON ENSURING THAT WORKERS ARE FREE FROM HARASSMENT AND DISCRIMINATION AND SEEK TO IMPLEMENT THIS PROGRAM.EDUCATION & OUTREACH: EDUCATION AND OUTREACH CURRENTLY INCLUDES TWO TRAININGS: BYSTANDER INTERVENTION TRAINING AND INCLUSIVE SETS AND HARASSMENT FREE WORKPLACES. THE LIVE TRAININGS ALLOW PARTICIPANTS TO LEARN STRATEGIES AND TECHNIQUES TO CREATE A MORE INCLUSIVE, HARASSMENT FREE WORKPLACE. THE COMMISSION HAS TRAINED OVER 1,900 WORKERS ON INCLUSION, BYSTANDER INTERVENTION STRATEGIES, AND SKILLS TO ADDRESS UNWELCOMED BEHAVIOR.
RESEARCH & ANALYSIS: THE HOLLYWOOD COMMISSION BENCHMARKS AND DEFINES THE MOST URGENT ISSUES OF HARASSMENT AND DISCRIMINATION FACING HOLLYWOOD WORKERS AND DEVELOP RESPONSIVE RESOURCES TO ADDRESS AND MITIGATE THEM. IN NOVEMBER 2019, THE COMMISSION LAUNCHED THE LARGEST, FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND CLIMATE SURVEY. WITH VALUABLE CONTRIBUTIONS FROM 9,630 ENTERTAINMENT WORKERS, THE SURVEY LED TO 5 PUBLISHED REPORTS CONCERNING ACCOUNTABILITY, BIAS, SEXUAL HARASSMENT, AND SEXUAL ASSAULT, BULLYING, AND THE PATH FORWARD. THE SECOND SURVEY WAS PUBLISHED IN 2024 BASED ON RESPONSES FROM 2023-2024 FROM NEARLY 5,000 RESPONDENTS.
TRAININGS, WORKSHOPS, AND ROUNDTABLES: THIS PROGRAM HAS INCLUDED A SERIES OF 40 PANELS AND WORKSHOPS THAT INCLUDED OVER 1,000 ATTENDEES. TOPICS INCLUDED POWER, BULLYING AND TOXIC WORKPLACES IN HOLLYWOOD, CREATING CULTURES OF RESPECT, FIRESIDE CHATS, BUILDING ACCOUNTABILITY FOR DEI INITIATIVES, DIVERSE TEAMS, INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENTS, AND TRAIN THE TRAINER COMPLIANCE AND WORKPLACE MISCONDUCT.
