Part 3 - Line 4a
EDWARDS LIFESCIENCES FOUNDATION ALSO FOCUSES FUNDING ON STRENGTHENING THE COMMUNITIES WHERE EDWARDS LIVES AND WORKS SUPPORTING HUNGER, HOUSING, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, EDUCATION AND OTHER BASIC NEEDS THAT OUR COMMUNITIES NEED. WE RESPOND TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY NEED, AND PARTNER WITH ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE MAKING A DEMONSTRATED IMPACT. AN IMPORTANT PART OF OUR SUPPORT FOR THESE COMMUNITY-BASED CHARITIES IS GOING BEYOND OUR GRANT FUNDING AND LAYERING IN ADDITIONAL SUPPORT AS WE CAN. FOR EXAMPLE, OUR FOUNDATION HOSTS FUNDRAISERS FOR LOCAL NONPROFITS ORGANIZATIONS AND HOSTS COLLABORATIVE CONVENINGS FOR NONPROFIT LEADERS.
EVERY HEARTBEAT MATTERS IS THE SIGNATURE PHILANTHROPIC INITIATIVE OF EDWARDS LIFESCIENCES FOUNDATION. IN 2014, WE LAUNCHED EVERY HEARTBEAT MATTERS, AND BY 2020, THIS COMMUNITY OF CHARITABLE PARTNERS HAD IMPACTED OVER 1.7 MILLION UNDERSERVED PEOPLE, SURPASSING THE INITIAL GOAL OF 1 MILLION. NOW, WE ARE WORKING TOWARDS A NEW EVERY HEARTBEAT MATTERS GOAL: WE WILL IMPROVE THE LIVES OF 2.5 MILLION ADDITIONAL UNDERSERVED STRUCTURAL HEART AND CRITICAL CARE PATIENTS BY THE END OF 2025. TO DRIVE THIS GOAL, WE FUND IMPACTFUL CARDIAC AND PATIENT CENTRIC CHARITABLE PARTNERS, BUT ALSO INVEST IN CREATING A CLOSE-KNIT GLOBAL COMMUNITY THAT EMPOWERS PEOPLE AND ORGANIZATIONS TO SUSTAIN AND EXPAND THEIR EFFORTS TO IMPACT STRUCTURAL HEART DISEASE AND CRITICAL CARE PATIENTS, NOT JUST TODAY, BUT LONG AFTER OUR GRANTS ARE MADE. EHM DOES THIS BY BRINGING TOGETHER THE LEADERS OF OUR CHARITABLE PARTNERS, AND TELLING THE STORIES OF THEIR WORK TO SHARE THEIR IMPACT AND INSPIRE MORE GIVING.
