THE MISSION OF EAST TEXAS CANCER ALLIANCE OF HOPE STARTED AS A CANCER-ONLY ORGANIZATION BUT HAS EXPANDED ITS PROGRAMS TO EQUIP INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WITH THE TOOLS AND RESOURCES NEEDED TO BUILD HEALTHY HOMES THAT PROMOTE POSITIVE CHANGE IN THE COMMUNITIES SERVED THROUGH INTENSIVE CASE MANAGEMENT, EDUCATION, WELLNESS, PREVENTION, COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS, AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THOSE FACING CANCER.

IN 2023 EAST TEXAS CANCER ALLIANCE OF HOPE PROVIDED 207 INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR FAMILIES WITH $31,828 TO ASSIST THEM IN OVERCOMING BARRIERS TO EQUITABLE CARE INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO HOUSING ASSISTANCE, UTILITY ASSISTANCE, TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE, LODGING ASSISTANCE FOR THOSE TRAVELING INTO LUFKIN FOR TREATMENT AND THOSE WHO CHOOSE CARE OUTSIDE OF ANGELINA COUNTY. ETXCAH ALSO ASSISTED IN PROVIDING MEAL VOUCHERS, NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS NAVIGATIONAL ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT GROUPS FOR CLIENTS AND THEIR CAREGIVERS.
