SUNFLOWER COMMUNITY SOLAR PROGRAM - A NON-PROFIT SPONSORED COMMUNITY SOLAR PROJECT LOCATED AT THE OLYMPIA FARMERS MARKET. COMMUNITY MEMBERS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN OR DONATE TO A SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEM. OUR TEAM DEVELOPED AND ENROLLED THE SOLAR INSTALLATION.
THE MERRITT MANOR SOLAR PROJECT CONSISTS OF 324 SOLAR PANELS ROOF MOUNTED ON MERRITT MANOR, A FOUR-STORY TALL HOUSING COMPLEX IN OLYMPIA WASHINGTON THAT HOSTS EIGHTY-TWO INCOME ELIGIBLE APARTMENTS. THE PROJECT WAS FUNDED BY THE WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCES LOW INCOME SOLAR DEPLOYMENT FUND AND INSTALLED BY SOUTH SOUND SOLAR. OLYMPIA COMMUNITY SOLAR INVITED MERRITT MANOR RESIDENTS INTO THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS AND SOUGHT THEIR INFORMED CONSENT TO INSTALL SOLAR WITH AN INTERACTIVE SURVEY. OF THE 82 HOUSING UNITS, 65 RESPONDED TO OUR SURVEY, REPRESENTING 79% OF THE TENANT POPULATION. OVERALL TE SURVEY FINDINGS INDICATE THA A) A SIGNIFICANT MAJORITY OF RESPONDENTS EXPERIENCE A FINANCIAL BURDEN FROM TEHIR ENERGY EXPENSES, B) RE-SPONDENTS UNANIMOUSLY VALUE THE ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS OF THE SOLAR INSTALLATION, AND C) ZERO RESPONDENTS OPPOSE THE INSTALLATION OF SOLAR.
SOLARIZE THURSTON -A GROUP PURCHASING PROGRAM FOR RESIDENTIAL SOLAR ENERGY IN THURSTON COUNTY. COMMUNITY MEMBERS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY FOR A FREE SOLAR ASSESSMENT AND ACCESS TO DISCOUNTED EQUIPMENT COSTS. OUR TEAM DEVELOPED AND ENROLLED THE PROGRAM.
HUMMINGBIRD COMMUNITY SOLAR PROGRAM SERVED 163 COMMUNITY MEMBERS, PROVIDING AN ACCESSIBLEWAY TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE CLEAN ENERGY TRANSITION. THE HUMMINGBIRD SYSTEM IS PROJECTEDTO SAVE THE HOST NONPROFIT, THE HANDS ON CHILDRENS MUSEUM MORE THAN $1000 PER YEAR, AND RETURN MORE THAN $8000 TO PARTICIPANTS PER YEAR. THE 117 KW SOLAR INSTALLATION WILL PRODUCE MORE THAN 129 MEGA-WATT HOURS OF ELECTRICITY EACH YEAR. WE PARTNERED WITH 11 LOCAL NON-PROFIT ENTITIES THAT SUPPORTED THE PROGRAM. WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE 28 HOURS OF IN-PERSON EDUCATION TO MUSEUM VISITORS.
