DWELLS MAIN MISSION IS TO ASSIST AND TO SUPPORT FOSTER AND ADOPTIVE FAMILIES IN THE GREATER LYCOMING COUNTY AREA. WE SUPPORT THEM WITH GUIDANCE, RESOURCES AND MONETARY SUPPORT.

DWELLS OPERATIONS ALL REVOLVE AROUND OUR MISSION TO PROVIDE NECESSARY SUPPORT AND STRUCTURE TO OUR FOSTER AND ADOPTIVE FAMILIES. THE EXPENSES PAID FOR THESE FAMILIES INCLUDE WAGES & BENFITS PAID TO OUR STAFF AND OFFICE EXPENSES PAID TO ASSIST IN THE COORDINATION OF OUR OPERATIONS. THESE EXPENSES ALLOW US TO MEET WITH FAMILIES AND CHILDREN AFTER PLACEMENT AND TO PROVIDE OUTLETS AND COUNSELING FOR MOTHERS AND FATHERS WHO NEED HELP DEALING WITH NEW SITUATIONS WITH THE CHILDREN PLACED IN THEIR HOMES.


DWELLS CARE COMMUNITIES PROGRAMS ARE MADE UP OF GROUPS OF INDIVIDUALS OR CHURCHES WHO WRAP AROUND A NEWLY FORMED FAMILY UNIT INCLUDING EITHER FOSTER OR ADOPTIVE CHILDREN IN NEW PLACEMENTS. THE CARE COMMUNITY HELPS WITH MEALS, TRANSPORTATION, LAWNCARE, DAYCARE AND ANY OTHER SERVICES NEEDED TO HELP THE FAMILY ADJUST AND SETTLE INTO THEIR NEWLY FORMED FAMILY UNIT. THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE CARE COMMUNITY IS TO HELP THE CHILDREN FEEL LOVED AND NURTURED IN THEIR NEW HOME.


DWELL OFFERED TBRI TRAINING TO LYCOMING COUNTY CHILDREN & YOUTH STAFF AND ALSO TO LYCOMING COUNTY FAMILY MEMBERS WHO WISHED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM HELPS PARTICIPANTS TO UNDERSTAND THE TRAUMA THAT CHILDREN ENDURE DURING THE REMOVAL AND PLACEMENT PROCESS THAT GOES ON DURING FOSTER AND ADOPTION SITUATIONS. ACHIEVEMENTS INCLUDED EDUCATING THOSE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE PROGRAM WITH SKILLS AND TOOLS TO HELP CHILDREN DEAL WITH THEIR TRAUMATIC SITUATIONS IN A HEALTHY AND LOVING WAY.
