THE MISSION OF CAPE KID MEALS IS TO PROVIDE BACKPACK FOOD BAGS TO CHILDREN FACING HUNGER ON WEEKENDS. THE CHILDREN ARE IDENTIFIED BY THEIR SCHOOLS AND THE ENTIRE PROGRAM IS CONFIDENTIAL, ONLY THE SCHOOLS KNOW WHO IS PARTICIPATING. OFTEN TIMES THE CHILDREN WE SERVE PARTICIPATE IN THE MEAL PROGRAMS AT THEIR SCHOOL BUT OVER THE WEEKEND DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO ENOUGH FOOD. THROUGH THE EFFORTS OF MANY VOLUNTEERS WE ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE THIS PROGRAM EVERY WEEK TO STUDENTS ACROSS CAPE COD. BY PROVIDING THIS NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT THE HOPE IS THAT THE STUDENTS RETURN TO SCHOOL ON MONDAY READY TO LEARN AND ENGAGE.

BACKPACK FOOD PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES NUTRITIONAL FOOD TO CHILDREN WHO ARE AT RISK OF NOT HAVING ENOUGH TO EAT OVER THE WEEKEND. THE PROGRAM SERVES ALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS ACROSS THE CAPE WHERE THERE IS A NEED. VOLUNTEERS PACK AND DELIVER WEEKLY TO ALL THE SCHOOLS. FOOD IS PROVIDED AT NO COST TO THE CHILDREN.
