THE ORGANIZATIONS MISSION IS TO REDUCE INEQUALITY AND DISMANTLE COMMUNITY DIVISIONS IN FORT GREENE AND CLINTON HILL, BROOKLYN. IT ACCOMPLISHES THIS BY 1)PROMOTING THE BROADEST DISTRIBUTION OF RESOURCES IN OUR COMMUNITY, 2) PROMOTING THE ARTICULATION OF NEEDS BY REPRESENTATIVES OF THE UNDERSERVED PARTS OF THE COMMUNITY AND 3) PROMOTING THE TALENTS AND VOICES OF ALL THE COMMUNITY SO THAT THE DIVERSITY OF OUR EXPERIENCES IS WELL UNDERSTOOD AND APPRECIATED.

BIKE PATH: TRAINING HARD TO EMPLOY PEOPLE, MOSTLY FORMERLY INCARCERATED, TO BE BIKE MECHANICS HIRED BY THE CITI-BIKE PROGRAM. OVER SIXTY MECHANICS ARE TRAINED EACH YEAR.


FOOD DISTRIBUTION: THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVES FOOD AND GROCERY DONATIONS IN SUPPORT OF ITS FRESH PANTRIES PROGRAM. FRESH PRODUCE, REFRIGERATED AND FROZEN FOODS AND GROCERIES ARE DISTRIBUTED TO THE COMMUNTIY AT FRESH PANTRY LOCATIONS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY PUBLIC HOUSING.


CORONA VIRUS RELIEF: PROVIDING FOOD AND PPE TO SENIORS AND OTHER VULNERABLE PEOPLE, PRIMARILY IN PUBLIC HOUSING, WHO DO NOT HAVE A SAFE WAY TO GET FOOD WHILE SHELTERING AT HOME. DELIVER FOOD TO MORE THEN 1,600 HOUSEHOLDS WEEKLY. A LEADER OF A TEAM WITH OVER 30 PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS WHICH FIELDS OVER 60 VOLUNTEERS AND WORKERS WEEKLY.


SHARING NETWORK: THE ISSUE OF SOCIAL ISOLATION IN HOMEBOUND SENIORS, PARTICULARILY OLDER PEOPLE OF COLOR IN PUBLIC HOUSING, IS ADDRESSED BY ESTABLISHING SOCIAL GROUPS AVERAGING LESS THEN TEN MEMBERS, USING TELEPHONE CONFERENCING TO CONNECT AND COMMUNICATE. THE EMPHASIS FOR THESE GROUPS IS TO FACILITATE CONNECTION FOR THOSE LACKING SOCIAL INTERACTION, TO ENJOY INTELLIGENT AND FRIENDLY EXCHANGES AND TO IMPROVE THEIR SENSE OF WELLBEING AND COMMUNITY.
