WE BELIEVE THAT THROUGH ENCOURAGEMENT, DISCIPLINE, AND DEDICATION OUR PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTORS CAN NURTURE DANCERS TO A HIGHER DEGREE OF ACHIEVEMENT, CONFIDENCE, AND SELF-ESTEEM.WE STRIVE TO GIVE YOUNG DANCING ARTISTS THE TOOLS NECESSARY TO SUCCEED IN THE COLLEGIATE AND PROFESSIONAL MARKET BOTH NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY.BY GOD'S GRACE, WE STRIVE TO BUILD BEAUTIFUL DANCERS AND WHOLESOME HUMAN BEINGS. DANCE PROGRAMS: BTCA'S PRIMARY OBJECTIVE IS TO PROVIDE BOYS AND GIRLS AGES 3-18 WITH HIGH QUALITY DANCE EDUCATION, BASED ON THE AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE NATIONAL TRAINING CURRICULUM, IN A NURTURING AND SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT. IN THIS FISCAL YEAR, BTCA HAD A TOTAL ENROLLMENT OF 165 STUDENTS IN LEVELS PRESCHOOL THROUGH 6B. 30 WEEKLY CLASSES WERE OFFERED IN BALLET TECHNIQUE, PRE-POINTE, POINTE, VARIATIONS, PARTNERING, CONTEMPORARY, AND JAZZ (38HRS/WK AVAILABLE INSTRUCTION). 7 STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE DAY INTENSIVE PROGRAM RECEIVED 16HRS/WK OF TRAINING IN THE ABOVE DISCIPLINES INCLUDING IMPROVISATION. 17 STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE THE SOLOIST INITIATIVE PROGRAM RECEIVED 1-4HRS/WK OF INDIVIDUAL VARIATIONS TRAINING. 39 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN BTCA'S STUDENT SHOWCASE. SUMMER PROGRAMS INCLUDED A SENIOR INTENSIVE (50HRS INSTRUCTION) ATTENDED BY 19 STUDENTS; JUNIOR INTENSIVE (24HRS INSTRUCTION) ATTENDED BY 20 STUDENTS; 4 CAMPS (54HRS INSTRUCTION) ATTENDED BY 37 STUDENTS; AND 16HRS OPEN CLASSES ATTENDED BY 24 STUDENTS.
NUTCRACKER: BTCA'S SECONDARY OBJECTIVE IS TO ENRICH THE CULTURAL LIFE OF CENTRAL INDIANA BY PRODUCING QUALITY PERFORMANCES AND EVENTS FOR THE COMMUNITY. THE NUTCRACKER IS ONE SUCH EVENT. IN THIS FISCAL YEAR, A CAST OF 70 DANCERS PRESENTED 4 LIVE PERFORMANCES DECEMBER 18 & 19. 1,985 LIVE AND 29 DIGITAL ACCESS TICKETS WERE SOLD. WITH RELAXED COVID RESTRICTIONS, THE BTCA PARENT ORGANIZATION'S LOBBY FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES INCLUDING A BAKE SALE, BOUTIQUE, FLOWER SALE AND LUCKY DRAW WERE ONCE AGAIN OFFERED. A FULL SCHEDULE OF COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENTS WERE ALSO PRESENTED PRIOR TO THE PRODUCTION. FREE PREVIEW PERFORMANCES HELD AT WESTFIELD AND ZIONSVILLE LIBRARIES, AND CARMEL CHRISTKINDLMARKT, REACHED OVER 150 CHILDREN AND ADULTS. A GIRL SCOUTS EVENT ON NOVEMBER 7 REACHED 8 GIRL SCOUTS AND 6 ADULT CHAPERONES. 83 ADULTS AND TEENS VOLUNTEERED HUNDREDS OF HOURS TO COMPLETE MORE THAN 150 PRE-PRODUCTION AND PRODUCTION WEEK TASKS.
SPRING BALLET - SWAN LAKE: BTCA'S SECOND FULL-LENGTH BALLET OF THE FISCAL YEAR, SWAN LAKE, WAS HELD JUNE 12 & 13. THE CAST OF 72 DANCERS PRESENTED 2 SHOWS TO A LIVE AUDIENCE OF 791 TICKET HOLDERS AND DIGITAL VIEWING AUDIENCE OF 12 TICKET HOLDERS. COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENTS INCLUDED PREVIEW PRESENTATIONS AT ZIONSVILLE LIBRARY MAY 2 AND WESTFIELD LIBRARY APRIL 26, PROVIDING MORE THAN 100 CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO INTERACT WITH THE CAST MEMBERS AND LEARN MORE ABOUT CLASSICAL BALLET AND BTCA. THE SWAN LAKE GIRL SCOUTS EVENT "ODETTE'S FETE" - WAS HELD ON MAY 1, AND WAS ATTENDED BY 11 GIRL SCOUTS AND 7 ADULT CHAPERONES. 54 ADULTS AND TEENS VOLUNTEERED MORE THAN 100 HOURS TO COMPLETED JUST OVER 100 PRE-PRODUCTION AND PRODUCTION WEEK TASKS INCLUDING SET CONSTRUCTION, MARKETING, COSTUMING, AND DRESSING ROOM SUPERVISION.
