THE TEXAS REALTORS DISASTER RELIEF FUND PROVIDES CHARITABLE SUPPORT TO MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION, TEXAS REALTORS, AFFECTED BY NATURAL DISASTERS AND ALSO RECEIVES FUNDS TO PROVIDE SUCH SUPPORT.

THE TEXAS REALTORS DISASTER RELIEF FUND REQUIRES THAT ANY RECIPIENT HAS SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THEIR PRIMARY RESIDENCE DUE TO NATURAL DISASTERS. THE RESIDENCES MUST BE LOCATED WITHIN 1) THE JURISDICTION OF A PARTICIPATING LOCAL ASSOCIATION AND 2) A COUNTY DECLARED A DISASTER BY THE GOVERNOR AS A RESULT OF A NATURAL DISASTER EVENT THAT BEGINS ON A CERTAIN DATE. (ALTERNATIVE TO DAMAGE TO PRIMARY RESIDENCE, THEY CAN APPLY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IF THEIR PRIMARY RESIDENCE IS UNINHABITABLE DUE TO NATURAL DISASTERS, AND THEY INCUR LODGING EXPENSES, AND MUST SUBMIT LODGING RECEIPTS.) APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION DETAILING DAMAGE SUFFERED TO THEIR RESIDENCE. ALL APPLICATIONS WILL BE INITIALLY REVIEWED BY TEXAS REALTORS STAFF WITH GRANT DECISIONS MADE BY LEADERSHIP OF THE FUND'S GOVERNING BOARD (INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING MEMBERS OF THE TEXAS REALTORS LEADERSHIP TEAM: THE CHAIRMAN, CHAIRMAN-ELECT, SECRETARY/TREASURER, IMMEDIATE PAST CHAIRMAN, AND PRESIDENT/CEO).
