TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT, SAFE HOME AND DAILY CARE FOR THE MOST VULNERABLE ANIMALS, INCLUDING THOSE ABANDONED, ABUSED, NEGLECTED AND SLAUGHTER BOUND, WHILE SHARING THEIR STORIES OF SURVIVAL AND PERSEVERANCE TO CREATE A MORE COMPASSIONATE COMMUNITY.

IN 2021 WE RESCUED 27 ANIMALS AND ENDED THE YEAR WITH JUST OVER 90 ANIMALS.THOSE RESCUES INCLUDED:PIGS: 2 PIGS THAT CAME FROM CALIFORNIA. THEY WERE PART OF A HOARDING CASE INVOLVING 300 PIGS FROM CALIFORNIA. ALSO OFFERED OVERNIGHT CARE FOR 50 OF PIGS AS THEY MADE THEIR WAY TO OTHER SANCTUARIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY. ADDITIONALLY, A FAMILY TRAVELING THROUGH CINCINNATI SPOTTED A PIGLET ON THE MEDIAN OF A MAJOR HIGHWAY. THEY WERE ABLE TO CATCH HER AND REACHED OUT TO US TO BE HER FOREVER HOME.HORSES: HORSE RESCUED FROM SLAUGHTER, SEVERE NEGLECT, IMMEDIATELY TRANSPORTED DIRECTLY TO OHIO STATE VETERINARY HOSPITAL. 4 YEAR OLD HORSE ABOUT TO GO TO SLAUGHTER BECAUSE SHE IS BLIND. A WILD MUSTANG WAS CAPTURED AND PUT IN A HOLDING PEN. OVERLOOKED FOR ADOPTION NUMEROUS TIMES, THE MUSTANG'S FUTURE APPEARED DIM. WE RESCUED HIM, SENT HIM TO AN EXPERT MUSTANG TRAINER SO HE COULD FEEL SAFE AND BE SAFELY HANDLED. WE RESCUED 2 MINIS FROM ANOTHER RESCUE THAT WAS CLOSING DUE TO FINANCIAL AND TIME CONSTRAINTS.GOATS/SHEEP: 1 GOAT WHO HAD BEEN TIED TO A TREE FOR 10 YEARS WITH NO SHELTER OR COMPANIONSHIP. BABY GOAT, BORN A TRIPLET, FARMER HAD NO USE FOR A MALE. NEWBORN LAMB REJECTED BY MOTHER. BABY GOAT UNABLE TO WALK ON HIS OWN; WE EQUIPPED HIM WITH A MOBILITY CART. GOAT ABOUT TO LOSE HIS LIFE BECAUSE HIS WOBBLY LEG MADE HIM UNABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN 4H. BABY GOAT SAVED FROM BEING TRAMPLED IN A LIVESTOCK AUCTION PEN. LAMB, LEFT ALL ALONE AT A LIVESTOCK AUCTION.CHICKENS, TURKEYS, DUCKS: 2 CHICKS AND 1 BABY DUCK RESCUED FROM A FEED STORE THOUGHT TO BE ILL/HAVE DISABILITIES SO FEED STORE HAD NO USE FOR THE ANIMALS. 1 TURKEY FOUND ON SIDE OF THE ROAD. 2 DUCKS FOUND IN A BOX IN A LOCAL PARK WITH THEIR 1ST PLACE COUNTY FAIR RIBBON STILL ATTACHED TO THE BOX. A DUCK WHO HAD LOST THE REST OF HIS HERD TO DEADLY RACCOON ATTACKSCATS: AFTER THE CAREGIVER PASSED, HIS FAMILY MEMBERS LEFT HIS CAT OUTSIDE WITHOUT PROVIDING FOOD/SHELTER. ONE OF OUR ANIMAL CAREGIVERS FOUND A CAT ON THE SANCTUARY PROPERTY, WEAK AND STARVING.GUINEA PIGS: 3 GUINEA PIGS FOUND IN A SUBURBAN BACKYARD. GUINEA PIGS DON'T SURVIVE IN THE WILD AND UNBEKNOWNST TO US, 2 OF THEM WERE ALREADY PREGNANT AND GAVE BIRTH WHILE AT FOREVERLAND FARM. WE WERE ABLE TO FIND PERMANENT HOMES FOR 4 OF THE GUINEA PIGS.AFTER AN ANIMAL IS RESCUED, THEIR CARE JUST BEGINS. CUSTOM DIETS, ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER AND SHELTER, INITIAL VET VISITS, MEDICATION AS PRESCRIBED, QUARANTINE, SPECIAL HOUSING AS NEEDED, SPECIALIZED MOBILITY VEHICLES AS NEEDED, ENRICHMENT TOOLS, CAREFUL INTEGRATION WITH OTHER ANIMALS, GROOMING, DAILY CLEANING OF ANIMALS' QUARTERS, HOOF TRIMMING, DENTAL WORK ETC.WHILE WE CAN'T RESCUE EVERY ANIMAL IN NEED, WE HAVE ALSO BEEN ABLE TO HELP OTHER SANCTUARIES RESCUE BY PROVIDING TRANSPORTATION TO VARIOUS SANCTUARIES THROUGHOUT THE US.COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: CONTINUOUS TRAINING FOR STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS.
