Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3

PRAIRIE PROTECTION WAS FEATURED ON SEVERAL NEWS STORIES AND INTERVIEWS HIGHLIGHTING THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAIRIE DOGS AS A KEYSTONE SPECIES. WE WERE ABLE TO WORK WITH THE US FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICES IN COORDINATING A LARGE EFFORT STATEWIDE TO RELOCATE PRAIRIE DOGS TO THE PUEBLO CHEMICAL DEPOT. WE HAVE BEEN EXPERIMENTING WITH A PRAIRIE DOG COLONY TRANSFORMING THE GRASSLAND INTO A DIVERSE NATIVE SEEDED PRAIRIE. IN ADDITION, WE HAVE BEEN REACHING MORE PEOPLE THROUGH OUR SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS AND THEY ARE GETTING INVOLVED WITH THEIR REPRESENTATIVES TO WORK TOWARDS IMPLEMENTING MORE PROTECTIONS FOR PRAIRIE DOGS. WE HAVE DRAWN A LOT OF ATTENTION TO THE USE OF RODENTICIDES AND HOW THEY DAMAGE ENTIRE COMMUNITIES OF WILDLIFE THROUGHOUT THE FRONT RANGE.
