RESPITE: RESPITE CARE ALLOWS FAMILIES CARING FOR ADULTS WITH IDD TO TAKE A BREAK! THIS ALLOWS THE FAMILIES TO REJUVENATE THEMSELVES OR ATTEND TO OTHER AREAS SUCH AS THEIR OWN MEDICAL OR FAMILY NEEDS. FOR THE INDIVIDUAL, IT IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE NEW SETTINGS AND ACTIVITIES AND MAKE NEW FRIENDS.SKILLS ASSESSMENTS ARE ALSO SCHEDULED IN THE RESPITE SETTING. INDIVIDUALS' SKILLS ARE EVALUATED AND AREAS OF GROWTH IDENTIFIED SO INDIVIDUALS CAN SUCCESSFULLY MOVE FORWARD TO THEIR HIGHEST LEVELS OF INDEPENDENCE.
SUPPORTED LIVING: WE PROVIDE EDUCATION AND SUPPORT TO PEOPLE WHO ARE LIVING INDEPENDENTLY IN THE COMMUNITY.WE PROVIDE ONE-ON-ONE COMMUNITY SUPPORT AND TRAINING WITH ASSESSMENT BASED CURRICULUM. HANDS ON TEACHING IN THE HOME AS WELL AS IN THE COMMUNITY. EXAMPLES INCLUDE COOKING CLASSES, PERSONAL CARE, HOUSEHOLD TASKS, AND BUDGETING. WE CONNECT WITH COMMUNITY-BASED RESOURCES TO BROADEN OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDEPENDENCE.
LIFE SHARING: WE MATCH INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES WITH FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITY WHO ARE WILLING TO SHARE THEIR HOMES. WE ALSO PROVIDE IN-HOME SERVICES AND SUPPORT TO FAMILIES WHO WISH TO SUPPORT THEIR FAMILY MEMBER WITH A DISABILITY. FURTHERMORE, WE ASSIST FAMILIES IN NAVIGATING OUTSIDE SERVICES AND OPPORTUNITIES.
