IN 2021, ASF FUNDED SIX NEW GRANTS TO STUDY THE UNIQUE EFFECTS OF COVID-19 ON PEOPLE WITH AUTISM. FUNDED TWO NEW BABY SIBLING RESEARCH CONSORTIUM SITES, UCLA AND EMORY, TO STUDY EARLY SIGNS OF AUTISM IN THE OFFSPRING OF SIBLINGS OF PEOPLE WITH AUTISM AS PART OF THE NEXT GEN SIBS PROJECT. INTRODUCED A NEW FUNDING MECHANISM TO SUPPORT A TWO YEAR POST-UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH ASSOCIATE FELLOWSHIP. CO-AUTHORED A NEW LANCET COMMISSION REPORT ON AUTISM, CALLING FOR USE OF THE TERM "PROFOUND AUTISM." DEBUTED A NEW SCIENCE LEARNING SERIES TO PROVIDE REGULAR SCIENCE UPDATES TO THE COMMUNITY VIA WEBINAR. LAUNCHED A NEW INTIATIVE TO BETTER UNDERSTAND AND TREAT GI ISSUES IN PEOPLE WITH AUTISM (CANDID).
