THE CENTER PROVIDES CARE TO PERSONS AFFECTED BY INHERITED BLOOD DISORDERS REGARDLESS OF THE INDIVIDUAL'S ABILITY TO PAY. THIS CENTER UTILIZES A COMPREHENSIVE CARE MODEL FOLLOWED BY HEMOPHILIA TREATMENT CENTERS (HTCS) ACROSS THE COUNTRY FOR OVER THIRTY YEARS. THE MODEL INVOLVES AN INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH TO THE CARE OF THE PATIENT. WHEN A PATIENT COMES IN FOR A COMPREHENSIVE VISIT, THEY ARE SEEN BY A CLINICAL TEAM CONSISTING OF A HEMATOLOGIST, NURSE PRACTITIONER, (OR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT) A NURSE, A PHYSICAL THERAPIST (IF NECESSARY) AND A SOCIAL WORKER.
