OTHER MISCELLANEOUS PROGRAMS OF THE NONPROFIT WERE EVENTS AND FUNDRAISING AND COMMUNITY AT LARGE, PROGRAMS TO SUPPORT CAUSES OF THE NONPROFITS MISSION STATEMENT, LIKE ACT BLUE, BENEVITY FUND, MIGHTY CAUSE, AND NETWORK FOR GOOD, AMONG MANY OTHER CAUSES. FOR 2021 GOTVAX WAS A MAJOR PROGRAM TO DEAL WITH THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC CRISIS. FURTHERMORE, FOR THE ESPERANZA FUND, 13,335.00 WAS GRANTED TO 44 FAMILIES RECEIVING AN INDIVIDUAL CHECK OF 300.00 EACH.
THE ESPERANZA FUND WAS ESTABLISHED TO SUPPORT NEVADAS IMMIGRANT COMMUNITIES, AND TO STRENGTHEN NONPROFITS, WORKING WITH THESE COMMUNITIES DURING COVID. THE FUND WAS ESTABLISHED WITH A $750,000 GIFT FROM THE OPEN SOCIETY FOUNDATIONS,OUR ORGANIZATION RECEIVED NO FUNDS TO EXECUTE THIS PROJECT. WE RECEIVED $87,900.00 IN THESE FUNDS TO BE DIRECTLY GRANTED TO UNDOCUMENTED COMMUNITY MEMBERS. WE FUNDRAISED ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO ASSIST MORE FAMILIES THROUGHOUT THE PROGRAM. QUALIFYING FAMILIES WERE ASKED TO FILL OUT AN APPLICATION WITH LIMITED INFORMATION TO ASSURE THAT NO INFORMATION WOULD LEAVE OUR ORGANIZATION. THE FAMILIES, IF APPROVED, RECEIVED A CHECK FOR THE AMOUNT OF $300.00 TO USE FOR UTILITIES, FOOD OR RENT. WE HAD THE FAMILIES COME TO OUR OFFICE, AND WE PROVIDED THEM WITH WRAP AROUND SERVICES THAT INCLUDED: IMMIGRATION INFORMATION AND OTHER SERVICES THAT THEY COULD APPLY FOR THAT WERE OPEN TO UNDOCUMENTED INDIVIDUALS OR TO THEIR US CITIZEN CHILDREN &FAMILY MEMBERS.
DEFERRED ACTION FOR CHILDHOOD ARRIVALS (DACA) SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ISSUED A TOTAL OF $4,455.00, IN SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2021, TO COVER THE $495.00 APPLICATION FEE TO RENEW DACA APPLICATIONS. FOR 2021, MOREOVER, THE NONPROFIT HOSTED 150 VIRTUAL DACA INFORMATIONAL SESSIONS AT THE RE-OPENING OF THE DACA PROGRAM WITH 10 PARTICIPANTS FROM THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE, RECEIVING AN INDIVIDUAL CHECK OF $495.00 EACH.
