DIGNITY EDUCATION: AFTER THE SEVERE RESTRICTIONS ON IN-PERSON ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT 2020, MANY OF GLOBAL DIGNITY'S COUNTRY CHAPTERS RETURNED TO IN-PERSON EVENTS OR A COMBINATION OF IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL EVENTS. GLOBAL DIGNITY'S CHAPTERS DIRECTLY IMPACTED MORE THAN 7,998,000 PEOPLE IN 2021.TWO NEW DIGNITY WORKSHOPS, FOCUSED ON THE THEMES OF IDENTITY, LABELS AND ACCEPTANCE, WERE DESIGNED TO ACCOMMODATE IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL SETTINGS. GLOBAL DIGNITY DAY: THE ORGANIZATION HELD ITS ANNUAL GLOBAL DIGNITY DAY CELEBRATION ON OCTOBER 20, 2021. IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL EVENTS WERE HELD BY GLOBAL DIGNITY'S INTERNATIONAL CHAPTERS. EVENTS WERE ALSO HELD IN SCHOOLS AND BY COMMUNITY GROUPS AROUND THE WORLD. A GLOBAL DIGNITY DAY COLLABORATION WITH THE INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE OF THE RED CROSS (ICRC) FEATURED A VIDEO HIGHLIGHTING THE ICRC'S WORK TO UPHOLD THE DIGNITY OF THOSE THEY SERVE, AND VIDEO MESSAGES BY ICRC PRESIDENT PETER MAURER AND GLOBAL DIGNITY CO-FOUNDER CROWN PRINCE HAAKON OF NORWAY. AN INTERNATIONAL GLOBAL DIGNITY DAY CELEBRATION VIRTUALLY CONNECTED STUDENTS IN SCHOOLS ACROSS NINE COUNTRIES. HOSTED BY TAKINGITGLOBAL AND EMCEED FROM THE LONDON OFFICES OF ALIXPARTNERS, THE EVENT FEATURED ZIAUDDIN YOUSAFZAI, COFOUNDER OF THE MALALA FUND AND FATHER OF NOBEL PEACE PRIZE LAUREATE MALALA YOUSAFZAI; IMPACT INNOVATORS LEMBASWORKS; AND VISUAL ARTIST, WRITER, FILMMAKER AND CURATOR ASSINAJAQ WEETALUKTUK.SOCIAL MEDIA SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED THE REACH OF THE GLOBAL DIGNITY DAY MESSAGES OF INCLUSION, EQUALITY AND SHARED HUMANITY.
DIGNITY IN THE WORKPLACE: GLOBAL DIGNITY CONTINUED TO PILOT THE ORGANIZATION'S NEWEST MAJOR INITIATIVE WITH THE GLOBAL CONSULTING FIRM ALIXPARTNERS. THROUGHOUT 2021 ALIXPARTNERS EMPLOYEES TOOK PART IN FIRST-TIME AND REFRESHER DIGNITY WORKSHOP TRAININGS. THESE TRAININGS EQUIP PARTICIPANTS TO DELIVER DIGNITY WORKSHOPS IN THEIR COMMUNITIES OR WITH THE COMPANY'S CHARITY PARTNERS. THE FIRST DIGNITY WORKSHOP LED BY ALIXPARTNERS EMPLOYEES TOOK PLACE, VIRTUALLY CONNECTING ALIXPARTNERS PARENTS AND CHILDREN IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND THE UNITED STATES.
