Part 3 - Line 4a
IN THE PAST YEAR, SHELBY'S BRIDGE ADDED 40 ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES (AKA "FRIENDS") TO THE TRAINING PROGRAM. OUR TRAINEES HAVE RECEIVED THEIR SAFE SERVE FOOD HANDLER'S LICENSE AND ARE ABLE TO PACK THE 25 SUDAN SENIOR MEALS WE PREPARE MONDAY-FRIDAY OF EVERY WEEK. ADDITIONALLY OUR FRIENDS HAVE ASSUMED FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR "MAIN TREATS", OUR MOBILE FOOD CART THAT TRAVELS DOWN MAIN STREET OF SUDAN ON WEDNESDAYS AND THURSDAYS. JOB SKILLS WHICH ARE EMPHAIZED WITH MAIN TREATS ARE COMMUNICATION W/ CUSTOMERS, INVENTORY CONTROL, MONEY COUNTING, AND CLEAN-UP. GROWING FROM SEVEN FRIENDS TO 40 FRIENDS HAS BEEN CHALLENGING AND REWARDING. THIS YEAR HAS BEEN PRODUCTIVE AND SUCCESSFUL FOR SHELBY'S BRIDGE.
