FORK FEST IS A ONE-DAY MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL CELEBRATING UTAH GROWN BANDS, COMBINING GENRE-SPANNING MUSIC PERFORMANCES, ART, CRAFT VENDORS, FOOD TRUCKS, AND AN ARRAY OF FAMILY-FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES. FORK FEST 2021 FEATURED ORIGINAL MUSIC FROM 28 BANDS/ACTS ACROSS 3 STAGES-TWO LARGE CONCERT STAGES AND ONE INTIMATE, ACOUSTIC STAGE. ATTENDANCE WAS 2900 PERSONS.
HARRINGTON CENTER FOR THE ARTS PLANS TO RENOVATE THE HISTORIC HARRINGTON SCHOOL INTO A CENTER FOR THE ARTS, INCLUDING A STATE-OF-THE-ART THEATER. WE ARE CONSCIOUS OF THE GROWING DEMOGRAPHIC OF UTAH COUNTY AND THE NEEDS OF ARTS ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS. BOARD MEMBERS OF HCA HAVE INTERVIEWED PROMINENT ARTS ORGANIZATIONS IN BOTH THE SALT LAKE AND UTAH COUNTY AREAS. ALTHOUGH THE ARTS ARE SUPPORTED AND FLOURISH IN THESE AREAS, THERE IS A COMMON CONSENSUS FOR A NEED OF SPACE - TO CREATE, PERFORM, AND SUPPORT THE ARTS. WE ARE COMMITTED TO GROWING AND ADAPTING OUR FUTURE CENTER TO MEET THE EMERGING NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY.
CHALK IT UP IS A FREE, THREE DAY CHALK ART FESTIVAL IN WHICH LOCAL AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONAL CHALK ARTISTS SPEND HOURS TRANSFORMING SIDEWALKS IN AMERICAN FORK INTO A CAPTIVATING, ONE-OF-A-KIND EXPERIENCE. DURING CHALK IT UP, ATTENDEES ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND FREE CLASSES TAUGHT BY PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS, TEST OUT THEIR SKILLS IN OUR BUDDING ARTISTS SECTION, AND INTERACT WITH THE ARTISTS THAT ARE CREATING THESE LARGER-THAN-LIFE CHALK INSTALLATIONS. CHALK IT UP 2021 HAD 120 PARTICIPATING ARTISTS AND OVER 5,000 ATTENDEES.
ADDITIONALLY, HARRINGTON CENTER FOR THE ARTS PRODUCES THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMING: AMERICAN FORK CONCERTS IN THE PARK SERIES: CONTINUING THE BELOVED TRADITION OF THE FREE AMERICAN FORK CONCERTS IN THE PARK, BRINGING TOGETHER FAMILIES AND PATRONS FROM THROUGHOUT THE AREA FOR GENRE-SPANNING MUSICAL PERFORMANCES AT THE SCENIC AMPHITHEATER AT QUAIL COVE. EMPOWERING WOMEN IN THE ARTS MENTORSHIP PROGRAM: CONNECTS YOUNG FEMALE CREATIVES FOR ONE-ON-ONE INSTRUCTION AND CAREER TRAINING THROUGH TECHNICAL INSTRUCTION AND PROVIDING THE TOOLS AND INDUSTRY CONTACTS NECESSARY TO TURN A HOBBY INTO A VIABLE CAREER. THE WALLS: A BIANNUAL ART EXHIBITION THAT IS A FIRST OF ITS KIND IN OUR COMMUNITY AND PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE PUBLIC AND ARTISTS ALIKE TO ENJOY AN "OUTSIDE ART MUSEUM" WITH MURALS PAINTED BY LOCAL, PROFESSIONAL AND AMATEUR ARTISTS. EXPLORATION OF NEW WORKS: CONNECTS ASPIRING LOCAL PLAYWRIGHTS AND WRITERS WITH ARTS PROFESSIONALS TO HELP THEM REALIZE THEIR ARTISTIC VISION AND STAGE NEW PLAYS AND MUSICALS FOR PUBLIC CONCERT PERFORMANCE.
