FORK FEST IS THE PREMIERE ANNUAL SHOWCASE OF UTAH BANDS. FORK FEST 2022 FEATURED ORIGINAL MUSIC FROM 28 BANDS/ACTS ACROSS 3 STAGES-TWO LARGE CONCERT STAGES AND ONE INTIMATE, ACOUSTIC STAGE. ATTENDANCE WAS 2300 PERSONS.THE FESTIVAL FEATURES NUMEROUS ATTRACTIONS WITH FOOD TRUCKS, ART INSTALLATIONS, A HAMMOCK HANGOUT, BOUNCE HOUSES, AND A VENDOR VILLAGE WITH BOOTHS HIGHLIGHTING LOCAL ARTISANS AND CRAFTSMAN.
ADDITIONALLY, HARRINGTON CENTER FOR THE ARTS PRODUCES THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMING: CHALK IT UP IS A FREE, THREE DAY CHALK ART FESTIVAL IN WHICH LOCAL AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONAL CHALK ARTISTS SPEND HOURS TRANSFORMING SIDEWALKS IN AMERICAN FORK INTO A CAPTIVATING, ONE-OF-A-KIND EXPERIENCE. EMPOWERING WOMEN IN THE ARTS MENTORSHIP PROGRAM: CONNECTS YOUNG FEMALE CREATIVES FOR ONE-ON-ONE INSTRUCTION AND CAREER TRAINING THROUGH TECHNICAL INSTRUCTION AND PROVIDING THE TOOLS AND INDUSTRY CONTACTS NECESSARY TO TURN A HOBBY INTO A VIABLE CAREER. THE WALLS: A BIANNUAL ART EXHIBITION THAT IS A FIRST OF ITS KIND IN OUR COMMUNITY AND PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE PUBLIC AND ARTISTS ALIKE TO ENJOY AN "OUTSIDE ART MUSEUM" WITH MURALS PAINTED BY LOCAL, PROFESSIONAL AND AMATEUR ARTISTS. EXPLORATION OF NEW WORKS: CONNECTS ASPIRING LOCAL PLAYWRIGHTS AND WRITERS WITH ARTS PROFESSIONALS TO HELP THEM REALIZE THEIR ARTISTIC VISION AND STAGE NEW PLAYS AND MUSICALS FOR PUBLIC CONCERT PERFORMANCE.
THE HISTORIC HARRINGTON SCHOOL WAS COMPLETED IN 1903, AND IS THE CONSIDERED THE BIRTHPLACE OF PUBLIC EDUCATION WEST OF THE MISSISSIPPI. NORTHERN UTAH COUNTY LACKS RENTABLE ARTS PERFORMANCE VENUES OUTSIDE OF LOCAL SCHOOL AUDITORIUMS. THIS REPRESENTS A SIGNIFICANT BARRIER FOR COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS LOOKING TO PRESENT A HIGH QUALITY ARTS PRODUCT AND TO ATTRACT PATRONS FROM OUTSIDE OUR COMMUNITY. OUR NONPROFIT PASSIONATELY BELIEVES IN THE HISTORIC LANDMARK'S POTENTIAL TO SERVE AS A CULTURAL CENTER FOR THE ENTIRETY OF NORTHERN UTAH VALLEY, AND TO UNITE UTAHNS FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE THROUGH THE ARTS. WITH OUR 62,000 SQ. FT. COMBINED CENTER, HARRINGTON CENTER FOR THE ARTS WILL PROVIDE A PREMIER STAGE ON WHICH TO PERFORM, QUALITY SPACES FOR EDUCATION AND REHEARSAL, AND A FACILITY IN WHICH GROUPS CAN COLLABORATE WITH PROFESSIONAL TECHNICIANS AND STAFF.
ON MONDAY EVENINGS IN JUNE AND JULY OF 2022, HCA CONTINUED THE BELOVED AMERICAN FORK CONCERTS IN THE PARK SERIES, BRINGING FREE OR LOW COST, GENRE-SPANNING MUSICAL PERFORMANCES TO THE SCENIC AMPHITHEATER AT QUAIL COVE FOR FAMILIES AND MUSIC LOVERS TO ENJOY. IN 2022 WE HAD A TOTAL OF 4500 ATTENDEES.
