THE PRIMARY PURPOSE IS TO CONDUCT AND SUPPORT RESEARCH AND PROMOTE EDUCATION IN THE DIAGNOSIS, DETECTION, AND TREATMENT OF CANCER.CANCER RESEARCH-TO CONTINUE TO PURSUE THE LEGISLATIVE MANDATE OF ACHIEVING DESIGNATION AS A CANCER CENTER BY THE NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE. THIS IS ACHIEVED BY: (1) CONDUCTING AND SUPPORTING RESEARCH, AND (2) PROMOTING EDUCATION FOR IMPROVEMENT IN THE DIAGNOSING, DETECTING, AND TREATMENT OF CANCER.
