THE CANCER ASSISTANCE FUND OF NORTH TEXAS IS DEDICATED TO THE PROMOTION, SUPPORT, AND ADVANCEMENT OF HIGH QUALITY CANCER CARE. TO ACHIEVE THIS GOAL, THE FOUNDATION SHALL USE ITS FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO PROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE THE CONTINUING EDUCATION OF ONCOLOGY HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, SPONSOR AND/OR CONDUCT ONCOLOGY RESEARCH PROJECTS, DEVELOP EDUCATIONAL PRODUCTS FOR THE PUBLIC, SUPPORT AND PROVIDE COUNSELING FOR ONCOLOGY PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND DEVELOP AND SUPPORT ALTERNATIVE MEDICAL TREATMENTS FOR ONCOLOGY PATIENTS. THE FOUNDATION SHALL ATTEMPT TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT CANCER AND ACT AS A RESOURCE CENTER FOR CANCER EDUCATION. IT SHALL DEVELOP AND SUPPORT COMMUNITY PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE EARLY DETECTION AND SCREENING AND MAKE THE PUBLIC AWARE OF THE MEDICAL ADVANCEMENTS IN THE TREATMENT OF CANCER. THE FOUNDATION SHALL DEVELOP AND FUND PROGRAMS THAT ASSIST CANCER PATIENTS BY PROVIDING TRANSPORTATION AND ASSISTANCE FOR THOSE UNABLE TO PROVIDE FOR THEMSELVES.
