PANHANDLE SPECIAL NEEDS, INC. IS DEDICATED TO PROVIDING QUALITY EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL SERVICES TO ENHANCE AND MAXIMIZE THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL INTEGRATION OF INDIVIUALS WITH DISABILITIES.

PROVIDING SERVICES THROUGH THE STATE OF IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND WELFARE TO MAXIMIZE THE SOCIAL INTEGRATION OF INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES. LIFE SKILLS FOR LIFE - THIS PROGRAM TEACHES INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS FOR ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES.


THE WORK SERVICES DIVISION EMPLOYS DISABLED INDIVIDUALS IN A VARIETY OF JOBS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, SHREDDING, BULK MAILING, FILLING BAGS WITH WOOD CHIPS FOR A LOCAL MILL, PAINTING AND REFURBISHING DONATION ITEMS FOR RESALE IN OUR COTTAGE THRIFT STORE. WORK SERVICES IS A FACILITY BASED WORK TRAINING PROGRAM SPONSORED BY THE IDAHO DIVISION OF REHABILITATION.


THE EMPLOYMENT SERVICES SECTION ENCOMPASES SEVERAL ASPECTS OF PROVIDING EMPLOYMENT TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES. ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED THROUGH IDAHO DIVISION OF VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION TO INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE DISABILITIES AND WHO ARE UNEMPLOYED BECAUSE OF THEIR DISABILTIY. OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDE SCHOOL TRANSITION PROGRAM AND COMMUNITY SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT.


OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDE A COMMUNITY GREENHOUSE THAT EMPLOYS INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES TO RAISE PLANTS FOR SALE AND A STORE WHERE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES ARE HIRED TO REFURBISH DONATED ITEMS FOR RESALE; BOTH OF THESE SERVE AS A VOCATIONAL TRAINING GROUND TO PREPARE INDIVIDUALS FOR WORK IN THE COMMUNITY.
