TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF HORSES GOING TO SLAUGHTER. WE RESCUE REHAB AND REPURPOSE APPROXIMATELY 400 HORSES. THESE HORSES PEND 2-3 MONTHS IN REHAB WHERE THEY RECEIVE MEDICAL NUTRITIONAL AND TRAINING CARE. SOME NEED EXTENDED TIME. WE THEN ADOPT OUT WITH CONTRACTS TO APPROVED HOMES. WE MAINTAIN ABOUT 20 HORSES THAT ARE SANCTUARY HORSES THAT ARE UNADOPTABLE DUE TO MEDICAL OR BEHAVIORAL LIMITATIONS. WE ALSO ACT AS A RESOURCE TO HORSE OWNERS AND BREEDERS AND WORK TO EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY ABOUT HORSE SLAUGHTER AND TRY TO HELP OFFER ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS WHEN HORSES ARE DISPLACED.
