THE BOXWOOD LEARNING CENTER IS A 501(C)(3) NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION. THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL, ENTREPRENEURSHIP, AND MENTORING SERVICES TO YOUNG ADULTS AGES 16-21. THE ORGANIZATION ASPIRES TO CREATE LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS FOR SUPPORTING THE WHOLE PERSON BY WAY OF TUTORING, MENTORING, AND CAREER EXPLORATION ALONG WITH EXPOSING YOUTH TO CAREERS IN THE SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATH FIELDS.

THE PROGRAM PREPARES STUDENS WITH THE ESSENTIAL SKILLS NEEDED TO FIND, ACQUIRE, MAINTAIN, AND GROW WITHIN A JOB/CAREER.CAREER READINESS INCLUDES SUCH IMPORTANT TOPICS AS COMMUNICATION CRITICAL THINKING EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE FINANCIAL LITERACY TIME MANAGEMENT STRESS MANAGEMENT PREPARING STUDENTS FOR LIFE AFTER SCHOOL ALSO INCLUDES BOTH IN-CLASS INSTRUCTION AND APPRENTICESHIPS, INTERNSHIPS, EXTERNSHIPS, AND CO-OPS, WHICH ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO PUT THEIR NEWLY ACQUIRED SKILLS TO PRACTICE AND EVEN PICK UP NEW REAL-WORLD SKILLS THEY CANT NECESSARILY ACQUIRE FROM INSIDE A CLASSROOM.
UNION COUNTY EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT CENTER PROVIDES TEST PREPARATION SERVICES FOR HIGH SCHOOL PROFICIENCY EXAM.THE GED EXAM TESTS STUDENTS' COMPETENCIES IN MATHEMATICAL REASONING, REASONING THROUGH LANGUAGE ARTS (RLA), SCIENCE, AND SOCIAL STUDIES. THE STUDENT WHO PASSES ALL FOUR SUBTESTS AT AN OFFICIAL GED TESTING CENTER OR THROUGH ONLINE TESTING WILL RECEIVE A STATE ISSUED HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA.
