IN 2023 SANTI CONDUCTED 3 RELIGIOUS FREEDOM EDUCATION AND DIALOGUE SEMINARS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS, DEPARTMENT OF ETHNIC AND RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS IN THE FOLLOWING PLACES. KHAMMUANE PROVINCE, MARCH 1-3; SAVANNAKHET PROVINCE, OCTOBER 23-26; VIENTIANE PROVINCE JANUARY 15-16 (YEAR END MEETING IN VANG XIANG); SANTI ALSO CONDUCTED 6 PEACE BUILDING WORKSHOPS IN CHAMPASSAK PROVINCE MAY 15-19, AND JUNE 26-30; VIENTIANE PROVINCE APRIL 17-21; SAVANNAKHET MAY 29-JUNE 2; KHAMMUANE PROVINCE AUGUST 7-11 AND XAYSOMBUN PROVINCE NOVEMBER 13-17. A RELIGIOUS DIVERSITY YOUTH EXCHANGE EVENT WAS HELD IN VIENTIANE MUNICIPALITY MARCH 28-30. AFTER SEVERAL YEARS OF MAKING SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS IN EXPANDING RELIGIOUS FREEDOM, IN 2023 THERE WAS LESS RELIGIOUS FREEDOM IN THE LAO PDR AND SIGNIFICANT RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION AGAINST ETHNIC MINORITY PROTESTANTS.
