PEACEBUILDER CLUBS:THIS IS A FLAGSHIP PROGRAM FOR THE ROTARY ACTION GROUP FOR PEACE (RAGFP) TO RECOGNIZE CLUBS AS PEACEBUILDER CLUBS IF THEY HAVE TWO MEMBERS WHO ARE PAID MEMBERS OF THE RAGFP AND ARE ON THE PEACE COMMITTEE. THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS SEEK TO EDUCATE THEMSELVES USING THE MANY TOOLS, PROGRAMS, AND VIDEOS AVAILABLE FROM THE RAGFP, ROTARY INTERNATIONAL AND THE INSTITUTE OF ECONOMICS AND PEACE. THEY THEN SHARE THEIR KNOWLEDGE IN THE CLUB SO THAT MEMBERS CAN SEE THAT EVERY PROJECT WHICH THEY UNDERTAKE HAS A PEACE ELEMENT. THE NUMBER OF PEACEBUILDER CLUBS GLOBALLY STANDS WELL IN EXCESS OF 200.CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O.GLOBAL PEACE BUILDERS MEETINGS:THE RAGFP HOSTED BI-MONTHLY GLOBAL MEETINGS OF PEACEBUILDERS THROUGHOUT 2022. THIS HAS STEADILY GROWN IN ATTENDANCE WITH THE INCREASE IN PEACEBUILDER CLUBS. THE MEETINGS SEEK TO HIGHLIGHT DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF PEACE INCLUDING THE WORK OF THE RI CADRE, CHAPTERS, AND SPECIFIC PROJECTS THAT ARE BOTH INFORMATIVE AND INSPIRATIONAL TO MEMBERS. THE MEETINGS HAD PARTICIPANTS FROM OVER FORTY COUNTRIES.GLOBAL MARATHON ON ROTARY DAY:THE SUN NEVER SETS IN ROTARY. THE RAGFP TOOK PART IN A 24-HOUR GLOBAL MARATHON HELD ON ROTARY DAY ON FEBRUARY 24. IT HIGHLIGHTED THE WORK OF ITS CHAPTERS AND PEACEBUILDERS DURING ITS ONE HOUR SLOT. ROTARY PEACE PARK AT THE ROTARY INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION IN MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA FROM MAY 27 - JUNE 1, 2023:THE PEACE PARK WAS A VIBRANT COMMUNITY SPACE FOR CONNECTIONS, LEARNING AND FUN FOR PEACE-MINDED ROTARIANS ATTENDING THE ROTARY INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION. THE PEACE PARK WAS DESIGNED TO:1) RAISE THE PROFILE OF ROTARY PEACEBUILDING;2) ATTRACT ENHANCED ATTENTION TO ALL ROTARY INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATED PEACEBUILDING ORGANIZATIONS AND INITIATIVES;3) INCREASE COLLEGIALITY AND PROVIDE NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE ROTARY INTERNATIONAL PEACEBUILDING COMMUNITY.THE PEACE PARK WAS ATTENDED BY THOUSANDS OF CONVENTION PARTICIPANTS. PLANNING FOR THE NEXT PEACE PARK AT THE ROTARY INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION IN SINGAPORE IS IN PROGRESS.OTHER DEVELOPMENTS:TURKEY: A PEACE BUILDER CLUB WAS CHARTERED AND A ROTARIAN WAS NOMINATED TO SERVE. WHEN THE EARTHQUAKES STRUCK TURKEY, A PROGRAM CALLED "BUILDING EMPATHY AND RESILIENCE" WAS ORGANIZED WITH SUPPORT FROM EXPERTS FROM THE RAGFP NETWORK. IT WAS ATTENDED BY ITS MEMBERS, MEMBERS OF THE INTER-COUNTRY COMMITTEE AND VICTIMS OF THE EARTHQUAKE.
